The NFL needs to make it so teams that play on Thursday are coming off a bye. It makes no sense that the Vikings and Packers play on a Thursday coming off Sunday games yet the Cardinals and Broncos play each other both coming off a bye on a Sunday. I know it couldn't work in weeks 2-4 and 14-16 since teams wouldn't be coming off byes those weeks but the rest of the year it could be scheduled. Thursday games aren't going away but they need to do something to try and improve the product, and not having teams coming off 4 days rest seems like a logical start.

They need to stop having awful divisional matchups. Why do Packers/Vikings when you could've done Packers/Bears or Packers/Lions?
Why have Falcons/Bucs when you could have Falcons/Saints or Falcons/Panthers? Ravens/Steelers blowout was not foreseeable. Also there are many more appealing divisional matchups like Seahawks/49ers, Broncos/Chargers, etc. These games don't have to be divisional. Definitely need a better strategy. |
