Also there are many more appealing divisional matchups like Seahawks/49ers, Broncos/Chargers, etc.

These games don't have to be divisional. Definitely need a better strategy.
I don't think, when the schedule was drawn up, the NFL foesaw:
1) QB getting hurt
2) AP getting banished
3) other injuries

The Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961, which gave the NFL the right to pool the league's games and sell them to networks, prohibits the NFL from playing Friday or Saturday games during high school and college regular seasons.

Cause Packers Lions was a horrible game to watch this season and you usually get that matchup on Thanksgiving

Weve been thru this before.

Every team has to play on thursday so they have to show jags titans vikes etc.
They cant put all the better teams against each other cause then eventually you get all the bad teams left to play each other so they try & mix a good team with a not so good team.

Also the main reason they do division games is as mentioned since every team has to play its easier to just pick a division game rather then criscross conferences/divisions & then having to balance it all out.

Not sure what injuries have to do with it.

Packers would've blown out the Vikings either way.

That's because Rodgers wasn't playing.

And I'd say it's only once every 3-4 years that the Packers play them on Thanksgiving.

Not sure what you are talking about.

Rodgers played when they played the Lions.

He was 16/27, 162 yards, and a TD.

I'm quite sure if AP were playing the game would've been different...how different we'll never know. I don't think it would've been a blow out.

Correct, and each team plays the Sunday before, with the exception of Dallas vs Chicago in Week 14, both teams play the previous Thursday aswell (Thanksgiving)

Every NFL team plays on Thursday once with the exception of Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers & Seattle Seahawks who play on Thursday twice.

Wow. Because that's not a huge conflict of interest or anything...

Quote:
It's been more than a month since McDonald was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic abuse after an incident at a party at his San Jose home. The Sacramento Bee reported, citing police sources, that McDonald was arrested after police saw bruises on the neck and arms of McDonald's pregnant fiancée. The police's brief and only official statement said that "the victim had visible injuries."

McDonald has continued to play while team brass stands behind him, pending the police investigation. Now ABC7 News reports that the handoff of the case to prosecutors was delayed because of a pretty huge conflict of interest:

One of the things that complicated the case is that McDonald apparently called a San Jose police officer either before, or about the time that the 911 call was made and that officer went to the home.

Reliable sources inside the police department said the officer also works as security at 49ers games.

It was unclear if he was on duty or off duty at the time, but police sources said he should not have gone to the home and that he should have advised McDonald to call 911 if he didn't.

Tough break for Jairus Byrd and the Saints. Byrd is a good guy, and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Just read this! Looks like Philly made the right play going after Jenkins, as I really thought they were going to break the bank for Byrd. Always hate to see a player go down with injury.

I doubt it. Of course there's no way to know, but I think it would've been a pretty good game with Bridgewater(or even Cassel), Peterson, Rudolph, and Greenway. The Vikings are a Jekyll & Hyde kinda team. Just depends on which side shows up.

Probably so, but nowhere near as bad as they got blown out. Bridgewater is miles better than Ponder. It's hard for a QB to play any worse than Ponder's 22-44 passing, 0 TD's, 2 picks, 45.8 QB rating.

Bironas Blood Alcohol Level Nearly 3 Times Legal Limit

http://www.jrn.com/newschannel5/brea...278075141.html

Quote:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Rob Bironas was intoxicated nearly three times the legal limit the night of his fatal crash, according to toxicology results.

The results released Friday afternoon revealed that the 36-year-old former Tennessee Titan had a blood alcohol level of .218 percent, nearly three times the legal limit of .08 percent.

The report also found a low-level of Diazepam, or Valium, in his system. The Medical Examiner went on to say the level of Diazepam would have had a negligible effect on his body.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said Bironas died as a result of blunt force trauma received during the crash.

Bironas was killed on the evening of September 20 when his GMC Yukon Denali lost control in the 800 block of Battery Lane. By 11:02, calls started coming into 911 reporting the crash.

A police report stated that his wife, Rachel, initially told police Bironas was not intoxicated, but he’d apparently had "a beer" earlier in the evening.

Bironas was remembered during a memorial service at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on September 25.

Not a surprise, I figured this might be the case since it happened late at night and was a one vehicle accident.
