That is definitely a huge improvement (though he's already matched that total through 2 games this year).

The Vikings have a new record to add to the record books, the Vikings are the first team to lose their first 2 games after leading by double digits at half time, pathetic!

He completely slipped my mind and the knock I have on Brown is longevity, yes backs wear down but great backs that want to be in top 5 all-time discussions shouldn't.

I agree, that John Brown didn't have a long career.

Where does Marshall Faulk rank?

Four straight seasons of 2000+ yards from scrimmage.

12279 yards rushing + 6875 yards receiving

19154 yards is fourth alltime in yards from scrimmage.

Brown didn't wear down. He was the MVP in his final season. He walked away from the game because he was low-paid and could make more money as an actor.

Not sure where he ranks but he'd definitely be in the top 10, as would Marcus Allen, another excellent utility back. LT will be up there somewhere as well, consider him the most under-rated back currently playing.

I love TD, but I think he was just a product of an excellent system. You could've put anyone back there and they'd have been good...oh wait.....

Yes, but he was far more special then say Tatum Bell (I think 1100 yards off the top of my head), TD probably would have kept dumping out the 1500-2k seasons before he got hurt.

The interesting thing about this avatar bet is our game is on a Monday so you have to wear the thing through the following Sunday instead of Saturday. I think we get Grossman 6-8 times and the best thing about Grossman is he will LITERALLY wilt under pressure, the guy loves to throw INTs and fumble when the pressure's on.

He's been a little better because from what I've seen the system is so controlled he really isn't asked to do anything but throw to the person he's told to. But pressure is the equalizer (ask 18-1 Tom Brady).

Even though the rivalry between the Cowboys and Redskins isn't what it used to be, a few Redskins players seem to understand that Monday night will be more than just another divisional game.

Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman led the charge, telling The Washington Post that "it's the biggest rivalry in football."

The newspaper also included comments about the rivalry from starters like inside linebacker London Fletcher, outside linebacker Brian Orakpo and running back Tim Hightower.

"[The newcomers will] learn pretty quickly that we hate the Cowboys around here," Fletcher said. "There's no love lost at all. After that game you'll normally see a bunch of people in the training room getting healed up for the next week. It's gonna be a physical game, a lot of intensity. We definitely don't like the Cowboys around here."

Orakpo wasn't as demonstrative as Fletcher, but noted that the game will be "phenomenal."

"We're 2-0, I don't know what their record is right now but it really doesn't matter, we know it's gonna be a great game," he said.

Hightower added: "Growing up, I don't think anyone's ignorant of the Redskins-Cowboys rivalry. It means a lot to this city, it means a lot to this team. It's a great opportunity for us, and just like I said last week, I expect to win, I expect to win this week. I'm looking forward to going in there with a great group of guys, nationally televised game. I've watched the rivalry for so long, it's good to be a part of it."

The Ravens have agreed to a five-year deal with their franchise player Haloti Ngata. No word on the terms yet but it is certain to be a massive contract. Teams have a 4:00 Eastern deadline to sign their franchise players to long-term contracts, and the Chargers will not be signing receiver Vincent Jackson and the Dolphins will not be signing nose tackle Paul Soliai.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ive-year-deal/

Edit: Apparently it's a $61 million contract and Ngata will make $40 million over the first two years.

Steve Johnson banged up and Roscoe Parrish out for the season, guess the Bills have WR issues of their own.

Johnson is a concern, but we're used to dealing with Parrish's injuries. He's 170 pounds soaking wet and made of glass. Besides with Brad Smith on the roster now, we have a fill in for him this season.
