I don't see how this holds up legally. It's hard to see how a misdemeanor equals a nearly season long ban.

Regardless, as I said, until Dallas is bumped from the schedule...there's no way to prove OR disprove other teams getting lower/equal/higher ratings.


In other news: I get to add Josh Gordon to my line up, and drop Adrian Peterson! Oh well, can't win 'em all.

As an Eagles fan I get why you dont want to see Dallas, but as an Eagles fan you should be petitioning for the Eagles to play Dallas on said thanksgiving game and you would then get to see your rivalry game and see what it will do for ratings. Hell I expect Detroit and Chicago this Thanksgiving to be a very good game ratings wise.

I get it, you hate Dallas, but Dallas TV ratings are insane. They actually sometimes have regular season Dallas games draw higher than early round playoff games.

I'm not out to smear Dallas. I'm just positing that there should be a Thanksgiving Day rotation. I've never disputed Dallas brings ratings, I'm saying you never know what two different teams might draw. As it stands the world is locked into Detroit/Dallas so that only leaves 4 other spots. Based on the past 20yrs of actual on-the-field accomplishments, no way Dallas or Detroit should be there. Based on the total lack of playoff sustainability by Dallas/Detroit over the last TWO decades, I'd wager more people are watching Dallas to fail, than as fans.
Manning/Brady/Brees/Rodgers would all offer very good ratings. Pittsburgh has one of the biggest fanbases in the country. NY/LA/Chi/Philly are your top four markets. There are plenty of potent matchups out there that could deliver stellar ratings.
But yet AGAIN, for the 17th time...there's no way to prove/disprove until it actually happens.

That makes plenty of sense Nav, the NFL is not bound by law to listen to what the union wants. In cases where something is damaging or disparaging to the league such as domestic or child abuse cases the NFL is fully within its rights to step in and do whats best for the league. AP was never playing this season of that I am convinced. At this point the best thing AP can do is keep his mouth shut and apply for reinstatement next year. I think he may have shot himself in the foot skipping that meeting Friday, it showed just exactly how serious he really was about making amends and getting back on the field. If he had come to that meeting truly apologetic for the damage he caused the league, came in with charity and a plan in his pockets he would have been fine. He didn't tho and well he is paying the price for it now. It is better in the eyes of the law to have to much punishment and reduce it then not enough ala Ray Rice.

He's been complaining about his role for a while now, and he was certainly going to be cut in the offseason. Moderately surprised it happened during the season, but not really.

The Colts will definitely put a claim in with Bradshaw out now. I would bet on him landing there.

The Steelers have released LeGarrette Blount. Like Tate this probably has more to do with attitude then performance. Blount left the field early yesterday because he was upset about his playing time. If this had happened a couple weeks ago I could have seen the Patriots having interest in Blount, but with Jonas Gray's emergence that seems unlikely now.

I don't like these RBs getting released with two teams in the AFC that need power backs. (colts and Broncos)

Ed Werder thinks it's very possible AP plays this week, but I don't see any situation where the Vikings let that happen. They are playing the Packers , they want McKinnon to get some work in, they don't want to upset Goodell who is acting like a dictator, and this is now Mike Zimmer's team. AP has only played 1 game for Zimmer, and I don't think there's any allegiances there.

I want to see Adrian play more than anybody (except for maybe AP himself). I've been defending him since day 1. But logically, I don't see how he plays this weekend.

The arbitrator ruled that Adrian Peterson can remain on the commissioner's exempt list. If he had ruled that Peterson must be taken off the list then Peterson would have been eligible to play during his appeal. The only bright spot for Peterson is he will keep getting paid while he's on the exempt list, so he'll continue to make roughly $700,000 per week until his appeal is finalized.
