I don't think the 18 games is inevitable at all. The NFLPA seems dead set against the 18 game schedule, and the NFL has already conceded that they won't go to 18 games without the players approval. There's already too many injuries in football and going to 18 games will just further dilute the product. The only way I could imagine the NFLPA agreeing to 18 games is if they got a far greater revenue percentage than what they're currently getting, and that's not going to happen.

Also if they went to 18 games this year, throw in the current lock-out of OTAs and you have a recipe for a LOT of injuries this year. So for the best interest of the owners and the players this needs to get reconciled quickly.

By the looks of the new agreement, their setting an agreement till the end of 2012. I agree that 18 Games is too much. I definitely agree of a Two game Pre-Season. I think that works alittle better than 18 Games.

We'll see, NFLPA is very stern about what they want, we'll see if they get it.

Even if they went to 18 games it would not be until 2012 the earliest - the 2011 nfl sched has already been released as far as opponents (16) is concerned.

They cant go to only 2 preseason with 16 reg as they would lose even more $$.

They want to add games not take away so it will stay 16/4 or go to 17/3, 18/2 - they will play 20 games either way....no less.

Coach Andy Reid confirmed this week that the Eagles will "sit back and evaluate" all offers that roll in for Kevin Kolb leading up to the draft.
"People have shown a little interest (in Kolb), and as this thing picks up, I'm sure it will continue," Reid said. "Everything else from there is easy." Translation: Meet our hefty price tag, and he's all yours. If events conspire to allow transactions before the draft, we like Kolb's odds of landing a starting job in another locale. The draft lacks a true no-brainer franchise QB, and there are at least seven clubs in need of a 2011 solution.

Not if he knew I've scored about a 35 on it and I doubt I tried anywhere near as hard as he did. Besides with his 4.38 speed, at the very worst he could always be the next Matt Jones and try to become a WR in the NFL.

For the most part I agree with the Players Union in this labor battle. Thing is the Players Union ALWAYS seems to come off looking bad in the media, mainly through boneheaded comments by players. That's how the owner's always seem to win these battles in the court of public opinion.

Totally I agree... I actually support the players rights, but just like I don't want Snyder and co. to be greedy pigs, the same is true for the PA, and like you said they have looked TERRIBLE through this process.

i'm sure the "modern day slavery" reference by Peterson makes the players look good...

Your QB is D-Mac, dude weighs about 250 lbs, you shouldn't be calling other people's QBs fat.

Free agent OT Mario Henderson was arrested Thursday in Florida on charges of carrying a concealed firearm.
After being pulled over for loud music, Henderson admitted to the officer that he had a gun in the vehicle. He's not licensed to carry a concealed firearm, which was a problem when the gun was found next to his seat instead of in the glovebox as he indicated. The Raiders failed to extend a tender to Henderson before the end of the last CBA. He'll take the offseason incident into free agency.

It's sounding to me like McNabb and Grossman will both be gone from Washington once the draft and free agency are over so Washington will have all new top 2 QBs in the 2011 season.

I would think they'll try to keep Grossman if the lockout drags on into August or September. It would be very tough to join a team and become a starting quarterback with only a few weeks of practice, especially if it's a rookie.
