fate hit the nail on the head.

there are guys like Ryan Pickett that came here and fell in love w/the area and talked about retiring in the area.

then there are guys like Anthony Davis who called Appleton (about 30 min. south of Green Bay where visiting teams stay) a sh!thole.

i'd much rather have the former on the team than someone who wants to be out partying and possibly getting into trouble.

Let's face facts, the Pack have plugged in Flynn in the past when Rodgers was out and held up just fine. They have a good enough team even without Rodgers to crack .500. Flynn isn't great by any means, but he's capable of being efficient enough to keep a good team afloat.
Facts are good, I like facts. Let's talk about the 2013 Packers with and without Rodgers:

Packers enter week 9 against the Bears (the game Rodgers got injured) with a 5-2 record and on a 4 game winning streak. Including the Bears game where Rodgers had to exit due to injury and until Rodgers finally came back in Week 17, the Packers went 2-5-1. If it wasn't for Rodgers performance prior to his injury, there's no way the Packers "stay afloat". Not only that, but it's even more unlikely that Matt Flynn goes into Chicago week 17 and beats them. Aaron Rodgers came back and played another hell of a game.

MVP awards mean different things to different people. Most voters believe it should go to the "person most valuable to his team" (whatever that means considering it's difficult to judge) while others vote for the person they think was the best at what he does. I'm in the latter category, which is why I'd vote for Watts. They may as well just re-name the MVP award "most outstanding QB or RB" because essentially that's what it is. It's impossible for a defensive player to win.
I agree with you 100%. The MVP does mean different things for different people. But it reminds me a lot of fantasy football. You don't just play a linebacker, you need to play the entire defense. The offensive side of the ball? Totally different... QB's, RB's, etc., all can be played and "scored" based on individual performance.

I'm with everyone who thinks its lopsided. It totally is, but what I can't think of is any way to make it not lopsided, except again, removing the player from the team and assessing where the team would have ended up that season. In my opinion the Packers lose 5 more games in 2014 without Rodgers, and the Texans maybe lose 3 more games without JJ Watt.

We're not on the list?!

I guess they realize Nashville is one of the better cities of all the teams.

This new espn scorebox SUX !!

Looks cheap crummy & too small even on a 55 inch tv.

Theyre gonna use it on their wildcard game too.

Man am I chewing my nails up. Today is the final day Marrone can opt out. And supposedly he would be a top candidate for several of the openings.

Green Bay is a small, extremely cold city that's less than 4% African-American in a league where the majority of players are African-American. Not hard to figure out why it's not an attractive place to live and play.

This is getting more interesting by the hour. Buffalo already has a head coach lined up in case Marrone opts out. It has to be Reich.

I haven't even heard any rumors of Marrone opting-out, and I can't imagine teams with a vacancy would be all that interested in a coach that is 15-17 in 2 seasons as an NFL coach. I can't see him opting-out without a deal in place to take over a team, which could only happen if his agent and an owner/GM were illegally talking, and I can't imagine any team agreeing to make him coach without even an interview. I could certainly be wrong, but I'd be shocked if he terminated his contract.

Mort and Adam said that should be opt out, Marrone would be amongst the top coaches available for open jobs. He also already has a staff ready to go as well. Doug Marrone seems to be very highly thought of in the NFL circle. He's a good football coach, and I don't want to lose him.

How about Rex to the Bills so he can kiss Belichick's rings for a few more years? And when he gets fired from there, he can go to the Dolphins.

Why did Doug Marrone leave? The team is like the Rams and are just a few pieces away.

Frank Reich seems to be the front runner for us. Ironically, Marrone and the Jets have a lot of mutual interest.

Unless there's something already going on behind closed doors, is going for a cooridinator job or NCAA?
Like fatediesel said, how would a 15-17 HC be in demand?

He seems to be very well respected among league executives. A lot of people in the know say he will land another NFL head coaching job.

Jets are interested in him

Sources tell ESPN that the New York Jets will have strong interest in Doug Marrone.

The Bills beat writers are saying he wanted an extension and the Pegulas wanted to see another year of his coaching first. Supposedly he didn't feel safe with new owners in place.

Well there you have it. Not sure I understand that!
I guess he'll get a pay raise to go with a team that might be a larger rebuilding project than his current Ex-team.

That's a shame. 9-7 with no franchise QB is pretty good. Dunno what the Pegula's are expecting.

If he goes to the jets it's worse off then staying with Bills. No QB. Bills really don't have one either..but the Bills are a better team then jets no question
