Looks like the Seattle hate is real even with gamblers. It was widely expected Seattle would be about a 2 to 3 point favorite over New England in a Super Bowl matchup. But similar to last year the spread very quickly moved in New England's favor and it's now somewhere between a Pick'em and Pats 1 point favorite. Over/under is 48.5.

Last year Seattle opened up a slight favorite over Denver but was a 2.5 point underdog by game day. That didn't work out so well for Denver.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-sh...032049551.html

FYI the underdog team has covered the spread in 10 of the last 13 Super Bowls and outright won 7 of those.

For the Super Bowl, I give the Seahawks a slight advantage....since Patriots QB Tom Brady announced tonight that he was "on to Seattle". But maybe if Tom figures out that there is no game in Seattle, then he can make it to Arizona in time to stage a comeback for the Brady-less Patriots!!!

He really said that? I switched off from the game early in the 4th when it was obvious the game was over. Seems weird considering Brady is so similar to Belichick in never saying anything "off script" to the media.

Belichick tonight on the podium.... He looks like Jack Nicholson.

I won't miss them. I'm tired of the 15 year Peyton v. Brady show in the AFC. Funny thing is for all the press those two get neither has won a Super Bowl in almost a decade. They're 0-4 in Super Bowls since 2007.

The NFL did just fine when Montana and Elway retired and it'll do just fine when Peyton and Brady are gone.

As for Seattle who knows. A lot of teams appear to be on track for success many years into the future only to fall off the face of the earth and never sniff success again. This could be Seattle's last big run for all we know.

Good question.. it went from the possibility of me not caring who wins to the worst possible situation. I actually contemplated not watching the SB for the first time.... as these are my top two hated teams. No matter who wins, I lose!

But I will of course watch it, and will root(?) for Seattle, the lesser of the two evils?

From Yahoo Sports Column:

Quote:
According to Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com, the NFL will investigate the possibility that the New England Patriots deflated footballs during the AFC championship game, which they won 45-7 over the Indianapolis Colts.
Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

The Pats steamrolled the Colts, so obviously not much of a factor. But.... If true, this seems another case of the Pats attempting to cheat to gain an advantage. That's their M.O.
