Problem is Super Bowls being played at a neutral site would kill it for me. Too many casual fans and rich people who aren't real football fans fill the stadium. I've always maintained that the Super Bowl should be played at the site of the team with the better record. That way you'd have a stadium full of real football fans. I hate all the stupid dome or warm weather Super Bowls. Some of the greatest games in history have been played in the snow.
And hence the reason why I'm a Packers fan. I didn't like Dallas growing up. All the kids chanting "Starbuck! Starubck! Starbuck!" when I was a kid and the fact that they didn't know it was actually Staubach really made me dislike the Boys even more. The Ice Bowl made me a Packers fan. And speaking of the chanting, it's funny how many things change, but others don't. I help coach my son's travel team, and it's funny to see just about every kid I've come across the last 2 seasons gushing "Seahawks!"

But anyway, although I'd certainly also get annoyed at the casual fans, I'd have fronted that coin for the SB being that I wouldn't have to travel much, and a place to stay is also covered.

Edit: But then again, if SB location were based on record like you mentioned and the Pack ended up playing the Pats at Foxborough, I seriously would have considered going as I'd always wanted to visit the New England states. I had an opportunity to do that in 2012 when my wife was invited to coach the Celtics girls so all expenses were paid, but my son's team was in the championships so I wasn't going to have him miss that. She and my older son got to go to a Celtics game, and IIRC the Pats were at home that weekend, too!

Imagine football where two thirds of the plays gain no yards and the ones that do gain yards don't get first downs and you have baseball.

Or imagine baseball where you hit a ball and do a lot of walking around on the field and you have golf.

Good news for Seahawks as Sherman injury is just a strained elbow.

I bet the bandwagon Celtics fans got annoying after KG and Allen came over.

I remember a season or two before that Kobe seemed to be scoring 40 a night and in the Garden they were chanting MVP for Kobe.

Here's the thing about baseball if you watch a no hitter, effectively your watching two people play catch for 3 hours!

Go PATS.

You must not watch much or know much about baseball if you think a no-hitter only involves 2 people.

If you strikeout 27! It's called a perfect game or a no hitter! So what's the deal. Yes other events can happen for it to be called a perfect game. 27 strikeouts sounds like catch to me?

Math was bad on that.

Perfect game
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A perfect game is defined by Major League Baseball as a game in which a pitcher (or combination of pitchers) pitches a victory that lasts a minimum of nine innings and in which no opposing player reaches base. Thus, the pitcher (or pitchers) cannot allow any hits, walks, hit batsmen, or any opposing player to reach base safely for any other reason: in short, "27 up, 27 down". The feat has been achieved 23 times in MLB history – 21 times since the modern era began in 1900, most recently by Félix Hernández of the Seattle Mariners on August 15, 2012.

A perfect game is also a no-hitter and a shutout. A fielding error that does not allow a batter to reach base, such as a misplayed foul ball, does not spoil a perfect game. Weather-shortened contests in which a team has no baserunners and games in which a team reaches first base only in extra innings do not qualify as perfect games under the present definition. The first confirmed use of the term "perfect game" was in 1908; the current definition of the term was formalized in 1991. Although it is possible for multiple pitchers to combine for a perfect game (as has happened 11 times at the major league level for a no-hitter), to date, every major league perfect game has been thrown by a single pitcher.
Looking at Wiki, the highest strikeout total in a perfect game in the "modern era" was 14, done twice. A perfect game does not just consist of "playing catch", the pitcher still has to pitch the ball with skill and accuracy so if the player doesn't just strike out, he's likely to ground out or fly out.

Not sure why we're talking baseball in the NFL thread.

Next to NFL, MLB is at the top of my list....

Hockey is my #2 behind football... Preds games are awesome.

It would take a lot of booze for me to get into baseball.

Anyways... I guess I have to wait to hear how Sherman/Thomas come along the next week or so before I vote on this poll. Hard to see Brady losing his third Super Bowl in a row, but it's also hard for me to pick against the Seahawks. I feel like they'll matchup well. Either way, it's going to be a much better Super Bowl than last year. I don't see this being more than a single digit victory. Both teams need to get the running game established early. Otherwise, I think both offenses will struggle.

Interesting. I never knew that each team provided footballs and that only their offense used those balls. So the Patriots deflating footballs could have something to do with 45-7 (at least the 7 part) since the Colts would have never thrown those same balls.

Dalton makes it over Flacco, Bridgewater, Rivers, & Russel Wilson(who wouldn't play anyway).

Rivers was the second alternate and turned it down because of a back injury. Wilson was the third alternate but obviously can't play.

yeah, they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for the Pro Bowl this year.

i say make it a skills competition and a bonus to anyone that is voted in......voted on by owners and coaches, not fans.

The NFL, with both the regular season & playoffs, is just so good...they don't been an all-star game. Just vote the players, to keep the standard going, no need to "play" a game.
