The thing is he opted out of the Bills job because he thought he was going to be handed the Jets job. When that fell through he had to take any job he could get because in reality he hasn't done anything.

Have they even figured out whose coaching the Pro Bowl yet? Seriously, I wish they'd get rid of that nonsense once and for all. It's the only NFL "game" I refuse to watch every year.

So he's the OC, but they gave him a title that sounds like he's more than that when he really isn't.

Initially I was a little bummed when that story broke, but we came up short in that came. I could point to 5 or 6, easy, plays that Philly should've made that might have turned the tide, but they didn't. The rest is, how do we say: History.

And the deflated balls thing, the argument would rather be 28-7 instead of 45-7. It's the other way around.
Either way, I think it's safe to say New England was the better team, on the field, last Sunday. You know I don't have a horse in this race, I'm just giving credit where credit is due. New England has been consistantly good for over a decade. Cheating won't do that. You have to have: the front office, the coaching staff and players to execute. They have and they've won...a lot.
Honestly it's a treat to watch NE play. They never seem to make dumb penalties and are always organized. I just think they are the Golden Standard in the NFL. If people want to label them cheater, then so be it. I'm not here to sway anyone, as I said, I don't have a horse in this race.

Back in January 2004, when the Titans were actually relevant, we complained about the Pats heating footballs on the sidelines after our 17-14 divisional playoff loss.

Personally I never complained one bit about that, and I never complained about Spygate. We should've been more pissed at the refs for missing the PI call on 4th down that ended the game. And we should've been more pissed at ourselves for not playing well enough on offense to get it done, of course.

But at the very least we complained after a really close game. Colts complained after a 38 point defeat. What a bunch of babies! Andrew Luck remains the most overrated QB in the league. Is he top 10? Yes. Is he the messiah? No. Stop making him out to be, ESPN! If Luck didn't play in this scrub division, he wouldn't be so hyped. He went 6-0 against the AFC South and 5-5 against everyone else.

I wish Luck was our QB, but people need to quit creaming their pants for the dude. 12 INTs in 6 playoff games... That is horrendous at best. His last name defines his game.

Cuck the Folts. I loved watching that beatdown.

The Colts complained at Halftime, down 17-7, not "after a 38 point defeat".

Colts contacted the league before half-time. They got suspicious after their interception in the 2nd. The CB said the ball didn't feel fully inflated, gave it to their equipment guy, who told Pagano, who told the GM, who told the league, who then talked to the officials at halftime.

Not sure how everyone is so blasé about it. Perhaps years of cheating has desensitized the masses

So it's only cheating if the game is close? WTF kind of morals is that? And where are you getting this idea that everyone thinks Luck is on par with Brady and Rodgers? I haven't heard one person say such a thing. He's in the next tier. Not quite top-tier but on his way.

Sort of - I heard today that the guy who originally broke the story was contacted by the CB (D'Quell Jackson), who said he did NOT give the ball to the equipment guy, who told so & so, etc., etc. Someone else did it AFTER the INT of Brady.

Buy anyway...

This whole thing reaks of sore loser-dom and/or Complete & Utter Bullsh!t, IMO

Here's what we know so far:

Allegedly, the ball in question happened on that Brady interception in the 2nd qtr. Officials were notified at or just before the half, so Obviously (you'd think) they'd be watching things even More closely after that, right?

The score was 17-7 at the half. So, after the alleged issue, New England then went out & scored 28 points, to Indy's ZERO. Yes, outscored 28-0 when balls may or may Not have been watched more closely by the refs.

This is what most people with basic football knowledge call a Non Story.

And wouldn't you think refs who touch footballs numerous times a game, might Also notice if the balls felt different?

Btw, Green Bay's MVP QB, Aaron Rodgers, said he Prefers balls that are slightly INFLATED, so it's probably just a question of feel for different guys.

Cheating is cheating regardless of the ancillary details. If true, it just further enhances the rap that the Pats continue to look for ways to cheat.

Seriously. Next time I get pulled over by the cops for going 10 mph over the limit I'll argue that I shouldn't have gotten a ticket because it's not like I was going 20 or 30 over. Ya, that should work. It's only cheating if you really break the rules.

So it's ok to cheat as long as it doesn't necessarily benefit players who aren't on your team?

I didn't say that... I said any excuse like this just sounds pathetic. It wasn't a legitimate excuse. The Colts are just nowhere near the Pats level. That's all.

I've heard several ESPN guys say he's the best QB in football or in the elite group (top 5)... they wouldn't dare say it now though.

I don't understand why the league doesn't supply the balls... This makes no sense.

IMO this isn't an issue with the Pats. It's a league issue. If the balls were deflated, it should've been up to the refs or whoever to notice.

Surely the league will change something up now. Doesn't make sense to have teams supplying the footballs IMO.

If each team only uses their own balls, why does it even matter? Just let them inflate their own balls however they like.

Some like it bigger and some like them smaller...

He's not on par with Brady or Rodgers yet but you're crazy if you think he's definitely not in the top-5 conversation in the NFL. Right not I'd put the QB's in the following tiers. I'd say he's right around #5.

Top-Tier - Rodgers, Brady
Next-Tier - Peyton, Romo, Brees, Luck, Roethlisberger
Third batch - Wilson, Ryan, Flacco, Eli, Rivers, maybe Kaepernick

I think I'd move Wilson up and make Brady a 1B type of situation. To me Rodgers is a QB on his own level when healthy.
