I highly agree, this has overtaken the bye week of the Super Bowl. Imagine how it will be once it's media day for the Patriots? The excitement of the best game in the US will be overshadowed by what happened after the playoff game.

Is this deflate-Gate story ever going to stop? I think this story is over blown and stupid. Either the NFL is going to find the Pats guilty or not just get it over with for gods sake will they? Unless the NFL has concrete proof that the Patriots did indeed tamper with the game balls they have no case simple as that. Many players have said it wouldnt have made a difference either way if the balls were over inflated or under inflated the fact is the Patriots kicked the Colts asses. The NFL and media need to get over it and PLEASE MOVE ON!!!

Of course there is, but I found it interesting he'd even do that... And I know how it was a small cameo because I saw the episode.
Yep! Definitely a difference. I'm sure his agent brought it up, and I'm sure he had quite a few "demands" that needed to met.
So it really has nothing to do with him going in front of a swarm of beat reporters who are now looking to make him as uncomfortable as possible.

I see what you did there!
Yep, it's totally a non-issue. As someone mentioned if the Titans or Bucs did this, it would've been a total non-story. But since it's New England...well it becomes the de facto story to run with. It'll pass. Of course if New England wins the big game, I'm sure it will start right back up.

I was flipping channels the other night here in the hotel..and fox news...fox news had a random guy on with a football talking about it...it really is turning into a joke now. RH said this will serve as motivation for the players and i agree. Coaches? We have some pretty strong coaches so hopefully it won't affect them

And i find it strange that at least 2 teams are not happy with the colts for bringing this up because now the rules will change about it. Rodgers said he likes it over inflated..so i wonder if the packers were 1 of the teams

Fine 1 of 2 has come

Quote:
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the league has fined Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch $20,000 for an obscene gesture during the victory over the Packers.
Quote:
That might not be the end of the fines for Lynch. Schefter reports that the league is considering fining Lynch “significantly more” than the $50,000 fines he’s previously accrued for refusing to speak to the media.

I have to think that if Marshawn Lynch actually went to a doctor and got diagnosed with some sort of anxiety disorder he could get out of the NFL press conferences without being fined. I would think it would be against the law or an ADA violation for the NFL to force a player with a social anxiety disorder to have to meet with a large group of people.

I agree. Not sure why his agent hasn't insisted on him doing this.

Oh I agree, that's what Marshawn should do. It's obvious he has major anxiety issues. Problem is people who have it, especially men, have a habit of not wanting to confront it by seeking help. It started for me when I was about 12 years old and got progressively worse. I never got help for it until I was about 25 and it was almost too late.

I've seen a few "news reports" on this story and some are REAL bad. One was some Connecticut station that tried to do a science experiment proving it might just be cold weather that deflated the footballs. It was embarrassingly bad. News stations are milking the story for all it's worth. I don't see why it's even necessary. Even without the deflated football thing this Super Bowl has a ton of great stories. Brady in his record 6th Super Bowl as starting QB and trying to tie Montana for his 4th win, Seattle going for back to back championships, Pete Carroll trying to become the first coach to win 2 NCAA national championships and 2 Super Bowls, etc. "Deflationgate" really shouldn't be the main story here.

It's irrelevant if the Pats still would have won. They cheated and with 11/12 of balls deflated how could it not be caused by them. So now they have to face the consequences.

Once a cheater always a cheater.

Belichick comments on Deflate gate

Quote:
"Tom's personal preferences on his ball, footballs, are something that he can talk about in much better detail and information than I could possibly provide," Belichick said. "I can tell you that in my entire coaching career I have never talked to any player, staff member about football air pressure."

The NFL requires balls to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pound per square inch. Under league rules, each team provides its own balls for use on offense. Referees approve the balls more than 2 hours before game time, then keep the balls until they're turned over to ball handlers provided by home teams just before kickoff.

Belichick said the balls used by the Patriots offense are inflated to the "12 1/2-pound range" and "any deflation would then take us under that."

LOL... always drama with Hope Solo and Jerramy Stevens.

http://deadspin.com/report-jerramy-s...ing-1681143024

Quote:
Former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens was arrested for a DUI in Los Angeles early Monday morning. USWNT goalkeeper Hope Solo was in the car with him, and she apparently got belligerent with the cops. Now, TMZ has unearthed another alleged detail from the arrest: Stevens was driving the USWNT team van.

Here's TMZ:

Hope Solo's husband Jerramy Stevens was driving a U.S. Soccer team van at the time of his DUI arrest Monday morning ... and we're told it was the main reasons Hope was suspended from the team.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... Stevens — a former NFL tight end — was pulled over in front of a Manhattan Beach hotel around 1:49 AM while Hope was in the vehicle ... and both appeared to be hammered.

Solo was suspended from the women's national team for 30 days yesterday, a decision that makes a lot more sense given this new bit of information.
