I can't imagine doing that with a wife and kids. Props.

By the end of my college tenure, I hated it. It took me forever to finish because I kept transferring and losing credits.

It was awful, and I never wanna live like that again. I'm a simple dude... a fast paced life ain't for me.
yeah, the company I work for lost a gov't contract so I made the decision to take some classes just in case I was one of the unlucky ones to be let go.

it was a rough year.......I did that for the fall & spring semesters and ended up taking 9 credits over the summer.....which was only 8 weeks instead of the 12 or 15 a regular semester is.

the only reason I brought any of it up was I find it hard to believe these guys feel entitled to so much b/c they are a student athlete. they are students 1st, athletes second.

anyway......I'm still struggling w/finding a team to root for tomorrow. I don't want to see the Seahawks win b/c of what happened to my Packers.....but I don't want to see Tom get his 4th ring.

Your situation was different (mighty impressive though). Athlete students are aren't allowed to make more than $2000 per year working part time. $2000 dollars is not enough to cover expenses like food and car related expenses. They can be starving yet their coach is not allowed to give them money to go buy a meal at McDonalds or even a small bag of chips. The NCAA is an utterly broken system. It's not surprising that so many athletes go one and done especially students from non wealthy parents. You take your shot at maximizing profit or risk starving for a few more years and serious injury. After all, they can always go back once they achieve financial stability.

Also note that many college athletes are NOT on scholarship yet are still bound to these rules making it even harder for them. By comparison you were in a better position because while working that many hours must have been brutal, you were allowed to work that many hours. They can't.

And the same old crap with the NFL awards. DeMarco Murray wins OPOY when we all know Rodgers is going to win MVP. Seriously, how can you be the MVP but not the best offensive player? They might as well just re-name the MVP award "QB of the Year" and OPOY "RB of the Year."

Rodgers won MVP as expected. Glad to see Watt get so many votes. Didn't think that many voters would vote for a defensive player.

Quote:
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay 31
J.J. Watt, Houston 13
Tony Romo, Dallas 2
DeMarco Murray, Dallas 2
Tom Brady, New England 1
Bobby Wagner, Seattle 1
From what I'm reading it was Tony Dungy who voted for Bobby Wagner and no, it wasn't in error. I like Dungy but this is ridiculous. Wagner only played 11 games and isn't even the best defensive player on his own team, yet alone NFL MVP.

Another amusing vote was someone voting Kyle Orton Comeback Player of the Year.

This is the first year I can ever remember just not caring about the Super Bowl. Like at all. Don't care about the game. Don't care about the commercials. Nothing.

I respect the hell out of Dungy and he's like the nicest dude ever, but I stopped taking him seriously when he said Mariota was Aaron Rodgers in waiting.

Dungy was overrated, he leaves TB, they go to SB year after. He retires in indy, they go SB year after. Maybe he was holding them back. He was a defensive coach yet the defense in Indy was never very good outside of one playoff stretch. He looked just as clueless as Manning in those playoff one and dones.

Crossing my fingers that Chancellor, Sherman, and Thomas are all close to 100%...

I am becoming more and more confident that the Seahawks will win. The Seahawks defense is a force to be reckoned with. If the Pats don't get Blount and the run game going early I honestly see Brady struggling due to the Pats weakness at WR and the Seahawks strength in the secondary. Quick slants to Edelman should work. Gronk will need a big game and he'll make his plays for sure, but I think Chancellor will do a great job with him... It goes both ways. Wilson will struggle if they don't get Beastmode going early. Wilson is going to need to make plays with his legs, but the Pats are so disciplined that I think they'll do a great job of containing him. This will be the best team the Pats have ever faced in the Super Bowl other than maybe the Rams. So there's that too.

The media has done the Seahawks a massive favor in multiple ways... Deflategate is a distraction for the Pats and only fuels the Seahawks players more. They've also pissed Marshawn Lynch off, and it pisses the rest of the Seahawks players off too. He will be running with some hate and fire on Sunday. That team thrives off of this.

I can't pick against the Seahawks, but this game is harder to predict than last year's, which I had very few doubts about (though I didn't expect a slaughter fest).

I expect at least one trick play by one if not both teams. I'm willing to bet the Pats had initially planned on saving the Edelman to Amendola pass for the Super Bowl, but they ended up needing it against the Ravens.

Final prediction: Seahawks 23 Pats 20

Kurt Warner didn't get in this year so I think he'll have to wait a few more years. Favre is a lock next year unless he unretires. Don't think they will put 2 QB's in the same year.

And if TO doesn't get in, it would be really unfair, he's my wide receiver.

I have to agree. It took Gruden to finally get Tampa ay over the top to win a Super Bowl. I like Dungy as a person but as a coach and commentator he's badly overrated.

It surprised me he was even a finalist for HOF this year. The guy only won 139 regular season games and went 9-10 in the playoffs as a head coach despite having some incredibly talented teams. Just about anybody could have coached those Colts teams to 12+ wins a year with Peyton Manning in his prime.

Owens will get screwed over. Any player who didn;t suck up to the media their entire career gets dicked over the the first year or two of HOF eligibility. Even Michael Irvin didn't make it until his 3rd year of eligibility, which was also a joke. TO probably makes it in 2017 or 2018.

Well he might be a bit overrated, but he brought the Bucs within a TD of beating the Rams in the NFC Championship. He built an awesome team in Tampa. As soon as Dungy's gone, Gruden wins with his team. Obviously Gruden had built a great team in Oakland as well. Just saying... People only seem to equate Dungy's success to Peyton. It goes a bit further than that.

God I wish the Bucs would've beaten the Rams. We would've beaten the Bucs no problem. 11-6... What a score for a title game.

Don't remind me of that day. I was at the AFC Title game in Jacksonville. One week earlier I was there enjoying a 62-7 massacre of the Dolphins and what would end up Marino's last game. Thought for sure the Jaguars would be back for years to come despite the loss to Tennessee. Little did I know it would be the last smell of any success. Here we are 15 years later and they've pretty much been shit ever since...

The Rams-Bucs I saw later that day recovering from my mental (and physical) hangover. I couldn't believe the Bucs held the Rams to 11 points and still lost.
