A shame Warner didn't get in. With Favre an automatic for next season, I hope Kurt doesn't have to wait too long.

Hilarious story i never knew about. The man on the left holding Landry's leg is Dion Rich, known as The Gatecrasher. He's snuck into over 25 Superbowls and has been on the sidelines over 10 times. He's even been next to the commissioner during the trophy presentation a few times (including Superbowl 1). Once he even rode the Broncos team bus to the game. He's 85 now but he even snuck into the Rams/Pats post 9-11 Superbowl.

And if TO doesn't get in, it would be really unfair, he's my wide receiver.
I'd being loving life if TO never got in the HoF. Stats? Sure he's got them.
Personality...Team Player...he always feel short on those two items, and that will hurt his chances.

He was a douche but he never committed any crimes in his life. That's a lot better than several players currently in the hall.

Yeah, if Michael Irvin can get in, then TO is a safe bet.

That is true. He was a dick of a teammate, but you never read about him in trouble with the law. Not sure what that is worth for hall voting.

Irvin has 3 championships to zero for Owens.

What do rings have to do with anything when discussing receivers?

Owens' careers stats are pretty damn impressive. Without a doubt, worthy of Canton.

I'm pretty sure rings enter the debate process, when looking at resumes for entry into the HoF, regardless of position. Rings & stats get you into the conversation. One can be used in favor of the other, obviously, but not having a ring is, without a doubt, a ding on the resume.

Owens has five first team all pro selections to Irvin's one. TO was also the only Eagles player to really show up for the big game and he was coming back from a serious injury that was nowhere near 100% healed.

Owens not having a ring will have zero impact on whether or not he makes the Hall of Fame.

As an Eagles fan, I'm not disputing that. Heck, if Philly had gone on to beat New England, I bet Owens would've been Superbowl MVP.
I'm just saying zero championships is a glaring omission when weighing who gets in, or not. I get he's #2 on the all-time receiving yards list, which is why were are even having the conversation in the first place.
I guess it's going to depend on who he's up against come 1st ballot, next year, I believe?

Of course it will. That's just senseless to think the voters don't take championships into consideration.
By your logic Kerry Collins should be in the HoF, he's 12th on the all time list just ahead of Montana?

Weird. It was never very loud.

Even weirder, the artificial noise coincides with the home record drastically dropping.

SB rings only work in the positive. Undeserving people with rings will get in, but deserving people will always get in, with or without the rings.

Voters take rings into consideration for coaches and quarterbacks. A receiver's career is not looked at the same way as a Quarterback. I'm not saying that is how it should be done, but let's face it, quarterbacks get more credit than they deserve for big wins and take more flak than necessary for big losses. No, Kerry Collins should not be in the Hall of Fame. His story is a sad one for sure. Without his substance abuse, his career would have looked very different.

Well none of us, I'm quite sure, are NFL HoF voters, so we all are right in our assertions.
The only debate dumber than Academy Award, are NFL HoF debates.
As for Owens, we'll see when his ballot is up next year.

So, based on what you've said about teams being accused of cheating, does this mean you'll no longer support the Atlanta Falcons?
Cheating is cheating, right?
