The question is how and/or who, and that's a question that will probably never be resolved.

But this belief that the NFL owes the Patriots an apology or that nothing happened is just bizarro-land fantasy from Pats fans.
No proof. Plus, the number of balls keeps shrinking. Suck it up, buttercup.

1. Give it to Lynch to Lynch to punch it in.
2. Option play for Wilson as he is very good on the scramble and could have run it in.

They were on the 1 yard line for crying out loud.
Agreed. Im not even a football fan and I thought that was a horrible play. Great game though.

Russell Wilson is a game manager and a flashy player. Basically a small Kaepernick.
Their receivers are WR3's on any other team.
They have the best back in the NFL (with AP out), yet they don't give him 3 chances to punch it in?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they still had 2 timeouts, right?
2nd Down: run with Lynch. If he doesn't get a yard, TO
3rd Down: run with Lynch. If he doesn't get a yard, TO
4th Down: Last play. If they stuffed him twice (which is highly unlikely), then you can try a pass.
I think just about everyone watching assumed it would have been Lynch takes 2 more tries to run it in, assuming he didn't lose yardage on the first try. It it got to be 4th down and <1 yard left either another run for Lynch or play option for Wilson. Seems like this would have been the common sense way of playing it out.

At the 1 yard line the chance of Lynch not gaining 1 net yard on 3 plays is maybe 10% at worst even with the Pats knowing what's coming. Lynch is a master at pushing through for that extra yard or two when needed.

The NFL has to do their due diligence, which they are doing with their investigation. They're doing what they have to. They owe no one an apology for investigating a potential violation of rules.

Glad we got a great game that we can debate forever.
Even if you do pass you don't throw it right into traffic. You shoot for someone on the far right or left of the end zone and throw it away if nobody is open.

If Wilson would have thrown that ball back hip last night, we're having a very different discussion today.

Seattle PD knocks Broncos fans after loss last night. Is everyone in Seattle a douchebag?
Speaking from experience, that's a no. I traveled to Seattle in 2009 for a concert; my whole stay was a blast, and I was treated excellently by the ppl I met there.

Back to the Super Bowl: I think several things had a way of balancing themselves out. If you believe Al and Chris, both teams 'got away with one' penalty-wise; Seattle got a charge reduced to running into the kicker as opposed to roughing the kicker, but New England wasn't called for tripping a receiver later.

Last 2 minutes of the game you had a pair of highly improbable events, first with the ball that wasn't caught in flight but managed to avoid the ground as it bounced on Kearse's prone body. But then, after some highy ?able playcalling, Patriots, the 2nd time this postseason in fact, snare a huge interception when the opponents were knocking on the door going for the win.

The last play would certainly have you thinking the Seahawks beat themselves. Brady's 2 picks in the game, plus the defensive meltdown to end the 1st half would have been seen as the Patriots beating themselves had the game ended differently.

For all the focus on big 4th quarter plays, let's remember that a football game is a summation where every down counts.

I guess no one took the time to read my novel, but if that play had to be a pass why would it not be a read option or play action bootleg? You have Wilson who is an absolute beast at doing this.

You roll him out and if he can't find away to the endzone on his own, he either throws it to a receiver (if open) or throws it away and you live to see another down. Period. That's the only option if you're hellbent on not letting BeastMode get the ball on that play. Or if you had to run this dumb quick slant, at least throw it low. Wilson should've audibled and done his own thing.

That was one of the best Super Bowls ever, but it would've been the very best had it made it to 4th down.

It's a shame that Kearse's catch is just an afterthought, but you know... he should've caught that routine pass earlier when the Seahawks had a 10 point lead. It would've been game over right then and there.

I've seen Sapp a few times in person at local high school football games. He occaionally attends Apopka HS football games sicne that's where he graduated from. The guy is a notorious jerk. He generally treats everyone who isn't part of his entourage like crap and I've seen him blow off little kids seeking an autograph, telling them to "get lost."

Richard Sherman needs Tommy Johns surgery due to an injured in the NFC title game. Not really a huge deal as the medical field has perfected that surgery nowadays.

I believe it; He's been portrayed harshly in many satirical skits, but I take it there's a basis for it
