Not surprised at all to see Mariota slipping on their boards. He's a bust in the waiting (unless he goes to Philly). Winston was always the better prospect. It's just the character concerns that worry people the most.
If Winston is available for us at #2, I fully support us taking him. And I say that as one of the few Titans fans who like Mettenberger. I highly doubt the Bucs will pass on him though. He's the best NFL QB prospect since Luck. He reminds me of a combo of Ruthlessraper/McNair. If and when the Bucs do take Winston, we damn well better try whatever we can do to trade back and acquire more picks. If we are forced to pick, Leonard Williams has to be the pick. Damn the Bucs for purposely blowing a 20-7 4th quarter lead to secure the #1 pick week 17. |

They'll more than likely take him if he's there... But the further he slips the more likely Chip Kelly gets to pulling the trigger on a trade.
I used to think I'd want Mariota more than Winston... Then I started watching them both play very closely. It wasn't even close... Winston had to throw into tighter windows pretty often while Mariota hasn't done that but a handful of times. Mariota hasn't taken a snap from under center in college, and every QB in that cheesy Oregon system has done well. Mariota has just done way better than the other QBs. But that's not saying much. I won't be too happy if the Titans get Mariota, but I would understand the reasoning behind it, and it would, at least, bring us some sort of hype. He also wouldn't have to start immediately. IMO Mettenberger > Mariota. People will think I'm a homer for saying that, but that's how little I'm expecting of Mariota. He's Kaepernick (who's fallen off the face of the planet) at best. |

I agree... That's why I said at best!
![]() I really bought into the Kaep hype when he started his first game against the Bears in 2012... And he just kept impressing me, especially in the playoffs. Maybe he can get it going again, but it's not looking promising. |

The Saints thought they had a Super Bowl caliber team and were just a few pieces away so they went all-in last season in free agency knowing it would completely screw up their future cap. They are going to have to do something to get Brees' salary cap number way down, but the only way they'll be able to truly do that is by giving him a huge extension with a lot of guaranteed money, and that's probably not the smartest move with a 36-year-old who has shown signs of decline. The other option would be to convert most of Brees' 2015 salary into a signing bonus, but since he's only got 2 years left on his contract that would only drop his cap number to about $18 million and that would lead to Brees having about a $36 million cap number in 2016 (or about $17 million if they cut him after the 2015 season).

![]() Unless they hit multiple homeruns in the draft, and by that I mean have a three way tie for RotY on their own team, I just can't see them being competitive, let alone a Championship caliber team. I guess we'll find out soon enough. |

Kevin White I have a really hard time trusting. I have always loathed WVU prospects. I cannot think of one who has been any good other than Pacman (and he was a big bust for us, despite being a solid player for the Bengals now). I like Parker and I think he'll be good. I also like Dorial Green-Beckham a lot and consider him to have the highest upside of any WR in the draft. |
