If McCown signs now the contract will likely have a big enough signing bonus or guaranteed money to virtually guarantee he'll make the roster. He's one of the top QBs in this year's terrible free agent QB market and has several teams interested in him so it makes no sense to sign now without a significant guarantee.

I understand that. Hopefully McCown isn't being counted to start for you next year. I know the draft is weak at QB but there has to be someone that they give a chance to win the job that is better than McCown.

When McCown and Sanchez are the top of the market, you know it's a very barren landscape.

Unless he suddenly shows some improvement, that certainly is true.

Josh McCown should go backup Flacco.

Trestman is the OC in Baltimore now.

Josh McCown and Buffalo didn't reach a deal and McCown will visit other teams. It's still possible McCown will end up with the Bills, but a decision isn't expected for around a week.

An AFC scout calls Missouri WR Dorial Green-Beckham "special," and believes he'd be considered the best receiver prospect since Calvin Johnson if not for his off-the-field issues.
Quote:
"He's one of the best receivers I've ever seen," the scout said. "He's gigantic, he has tremendous body control, balance, he runs like a deer and can leap out of the gym and high-point the ball." Green-Beckham was a five-star recruit out of high school, but couldn't stay out of trouble at Mizzou, getting caught with marijuana before being accused of domestic violence. He transferred to Oklahoma, but had to sit out because of the NCAA's transfer rules. DGB is a top-10 talent who could fall to day two because of his character question marks.

Pretty much explains how I feel about the kid.

One would think the Eagles secondary couldn't be any worse than this past season, then this:

Apparently Trent Richardson had a pretty valid reason to miss the Colts walkthrough and flight prior to the AFC title game:

Quote:
However, sources said his absence was the result of serious complications with his girlfriend's pregnancy that could potentially have endangered the life of the child.

These sources said the mother was experiencing contractions and appeared to be in premature labor at just 28 weeks of pregnancy.

Richardson, sources said, rushed her to the hospital in the early-morning hours of Jan. 17 — the same day the team departed for the New England game — missing that morning's walkthrough in Indianapolis and the team's chartered flight.
Richardson was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team for missing the walkthrough and flight and not notifying the team of his absence in a timely manner and that suspension allowed the Colts to void Richardson's guaranteed $3.1 million 2015 salary. When Richardson is cut his agent will surely file a grievance and if the details of this report are true Richardson could have a case.

That is why I hate Florida. I got stopped once with my, then, GF because "somebody somewhere" hit a parked car and drove off. 40 miles from where we were.

Now there's a new twist to Deflateghazi.... a Patriots employee attempted to introduce an unapproved ball to the special teams balls.

My question for everyone is, would you want your team to draft him in the first round? Despite my team's need for a WR1, I would not. If history is any indication, the negative outcomes (Harvin, Gordon, Blackmon) far outweigh the positive (Marshall, ...? )

Nope.... but if the Falcons wanted to use a 4th or 5th on him, I'm down for second chances.

I agree, a 4th or 5th would be well worth the gamble. Especially for a team like the Falcons. Roddy and Julio can show him the ropes, give him some tough love. I hope he doesn't go to a team where he's expected to be the guy right away.

No way he lasts that long. Worst case scenario he would be a 2nd round pick. I'm sure he'll be drafted in Round 1 though. He's too talented.

I'd love it if the Patriots could get him with the 32nd pick. They need a big playmaking receiver and I think he'd be worth the risk and hopefully the Patriots veterans and coaching staff could keep him in line.

I'm willing to bet it will be tougher than normal signing him to a contract. Much like the Jags with Blackmon whoever drafts him is going to want to protect themselves by not giving him as much guaranteed money upfront as the spot normally dictates so if he does get in trouble they can void the guarantees.

Oh, I know. I'm just saying I would take a leap of faith on him, but only for a very low price. An early round pick is way too much to risk on somebody that already has major questions.
