Either way I'm liking this whole story line!
I'm a Dallas fan, I don't like this story line. I would've love for him to get his money, But Philly? If it's official then I wouldn't be too upset about it. I'll wait and see what Chip and the Eagles have in store. Hopefully they aren't good next year.

Well a lot of top NFL coaches praise Kelly for his work ethic and innovative style. Kelly has also been, highly, successful wherever he's coached.
So with all that said, and seeing as he now has the "keys to the kingdom":

In Chip We Trust.

Now that he's going to have "his guys", it should be interesting to see how it all works out. Am I biting my nails, you're damn right I am!

Matthews should have signed his deal because I doubt he'll get that amount of money anywhere else. Although both guys are pretty fragile, Murray playing 1 full season and Matthews never playing a full season. Maybe together they can get it done.

This is probably part of the reason Philly swung the trade for Bradford? Since he is good friends with Murray, and they both ran the spread offense in college.
Oh yes, the mad scientist is very much at work in laboratory! Muhahaha!

I'd want A.P. as well but that's a long shot. Well anything can happen so maybe it can. If he did get traded or released, hopefully he's smart by taking less money.

I want Murray to stay in Dallas, but I understand as a rb this may be the only big contract he ever signs. He's reportedly only made 4m in his career.

Murray/Mathews/Sproles/Polk

Note to self: Do NOT draft and Eagles RB for FF'15.

Kelly said he wants both. As Tony said, I'd be surprised if Mathews wants to sign now.

OMG, now the Eagles are shopping Evan Mathis? This I don't understand? I'm not sure if I can take anymore of this Free Agency!!
Mathis is the only positive to come from the nightmare Dream Team!

Looks like Forsett will stay in Baltimore, signing a 3yr deal.
Brandon Browner signing with the Saints for 3 years.

Over $8 million per year seems like a lot. Supposedly the Cowboys were only offering $5 million per year. I'm wondering who else they were bidding against. It seemed like he really didn't want to go to Jacksonville or Oakland but the Eagles certainly didn't get a discount.

I'd be surprised if the Eagles withdrew their offer to Matthews. If they backed out of the deal it's unlikely Matthews agent would negotiate with them again in the future and other agents would be wary of working with them. They may try to dissuade Matthews from signing but I don't think they'd pull the offer. Matthews may decide that going somewhere else is a better option since he'd probably get cut by the Eagles after the first year if he went there.

It's actually a pretty savvy deal, when you think about it. Philly was going to pay McCoy $12mil this season before the trade. Now we've got someone of equal, or possibly greater, value while paying less this season.
Not to mention Alonso at a position of need.

It's a prime example of Chip's arrogance, thinking his system makes the players.

He wants as many Reid era players out as possible. How many Reid players even remain? Like five?

The Murray signing is the one positive thing he's done so far, but it's mostly positive because he's no longer on the Cowboys. But why ditch a younger, more versatile, more durable RB for one who has had his fair share of injury issues?

When you consider the fact that the Cowboys have the best OL in the league, can Murray do as well elsewhere? Idk... Especially when Chip is trying to gut the entire OL apparently.

He thinks he can get by on his offensive system no matter what. We shall see.

Cowboys will now probably draft Gordon or Gurley and either one will run wild behind that OL.

I don't understand the Murray signing at that kind of price. I really hope for the sake of Eagles fans that Chip knows what he is doing.

The Eagles are no slouch at O-line, and it sounds like they are getting younger with Herremans gone and Mathis, possibly, next.

What is it with you and Chip Kelly? You sound like a spurned lover.
Most coaches, when they inherit a team, will bring in "their guys". Chip is just doing it much faster than other coaches have. Perhaps he's on to something?
McCoy, while younger, has had an incredible amount of work during his time with Philly so the durability issue is, at best, a push.
