As for praising Chip Kelly, hell yes I am. He's posted consecutive 10-6 seasons and one division title. Sure I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I've always been cautiously optimistic when it comes to my teams. Sorry if you don't like it.

The truth that even Locker, Fitzpatrick, and Whitehurst were and are better QBs than Tebow... That's a fact, not opinion.

I was using them as an example because they all suck... yet they're still better than Tebow. Fortunately, Tebow isn't guaranteed a dime unless he makes the team. So that's a positive. However, get ready for media frenzy and a complete distraction. Personally, I think you should be hoping Tebow doesn't make the team.

Chip posted consecutive 10-6 seasons when he had a GM. Now he's essentially the GM, so there's a huge difference now. He has to prove it as a GM before you should have faith in him. Now that is my opinion, but I am sure 90% (if not more) of NFL fans would agree with me here.

As I've said, I'll gladly eat crow if the Eagles make the playoffs this year. Let me take a look at that schedule (though marking W's and L's on a schedule this time of the year is always a bad idea).

That doesn't even necessarily make it a horrible signing due to the structure. He won't see a dime during those 10 games.

He could come back in time for a playoff push... NFL obviously wanted him back for Thanksgiving against his former team. Or it's just a coincidence, but I doubt it.

You guys will just need to address pass rusher often in the draft. I really hope you guys end up with Gurley (doubt he falls that far) or Gordon though.

A few heads on tv think he has a decent shot on appeal of getting it back down to the 6 games cause thats basically the penalty for this.

The other 4 games were tacked on for essentially extenuating circumstances.

The NFLPA and agents really screwed up with the way they handled the Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy moves to the exempt list last year. They just assumed that would be the guys punishments but nowhere in the agreements did it state that they couldn't be punished further. The NFL has made clear they don't consider being on the exempt list a punishment as the players were still paid. The NFLPA and agents should have refused to agree to the players being put on the exempt list unless the NFL agreed it was the only punishment for the offenses, and if the NFL wouldn't agree to that they could have refused to be put on the exempt list and put both the teams and league in a difficult position of figuring out how to handle the situation within the rules of the CBA.

Sorry man IDC one bit about the CBA I have no love lost for a guy who beat on a woman. Honestly the guy got a college education he can get work elsewhere. Anyone who does this crap there career should be over as a NFL player plain and simple. NFL should send a message to these players by telling them to take a hike.

Yeah, if anything, 10 games is too lenient.

I agree with the sentiment, but there is no way they could do that even if they wanted. There is also the issue of due process. I agree that it is wrong to put a player on the shelf for a year and then hand out additional penalties, that just doesn't seem right to me. But don't get me wrong, I don't have any sympathy for him.

Looks like we have a 3 way trade emerging between Cleveland, Philly, and Tennessee. If this happens Chip may actually be smarter then we all realize.

Quote:

NJ.com's Mark Eckel passes along a "rumor making its rounds in NFL personnel meetings" of the Eagles trading Sam Bradford to the Browns for the No. 19 overall pick in the draft.

The Browns already offered No. 19 to the Rams for Bradford, prior to his trade to Philadelphia. St. Louis didn't accept because it wanted a quarterback, and wound up acquiring Nick Foles. The Browns are "still said to have interest" in Bradford. Per Eckel, the rumor has the Eagles then sending Nos. 19 and 20 -- plus Mychal Kendricks and Fletcher Cox -- to the Titans in exchange for No. 2 overall, where Philly would select Marcus Mariota. Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reported Friday that Bradford currently believes the Eagles may be planning to trade him.

Well really Hardy put himself on the shelf last year and got paid for those 15 games. That said I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys cut him if they can't cut that suspension at least in half, missing 26 games in a row would be devastating to his potential to help the Cowboys during their push for top seeding in the NFC play-off field.

I would be so happy if that happened! I don't care about any of those teams, it would just be exciting. I don't see how it makes Chip any smarter than we realize, though. Giving up 3 starters so you can draft Mariota sounds like a terrible idea to me. But I gave up on trying to understand Chip a few months ago.

Hardy got in a fight at work today. Doesn't sound like it was his fault, but still...might be a good idea to keep a low profile for a bit.

I have trouble believing that is near enough to get the #2 pick. Both players the Titans would be receiving in that trade are entering the final years of their contracts and there's a good chance that Cox would leave after the year because the Titans (like the Eagles) play a 3-4 defense in which he'd play defensive end but he is best suited as a 4-3 defensive tackle. I would think the Eagles would have to give up at least another first round pick for the Titans to consider that.

Why? I know, traditionally, that would not be enough to move up. But who cares about some antiquated draft pick conversion chart? If they are serious about Mettenberger, then they don't need a QB. With this (potential) trade, they get 2 starting veterans on Defense, and 2 1st round draft picks in the middle/late-middle where they can address O-Line & WR (or whatever else their needs are). If I'm them, and I don't get a better offer from someone like the Jets, I might take it.

Really? I'd gladly take #19, #20, Kendricks, and Cox... We'd be idiots not to take that IMO. I was a fan of both Kendricks and Cox before they were drafted, so maybe I'm biased.

That trade does a lot more for us than selecting whoever at #2. We have so many holes.

Chip Kelly gets to look like a genius and my Titans get better... Maybe I'll end up loving Chip after all.

Highly doubt there's any truth to this rumor though. Draft needs to get here now. Sick of the talk!!!!!

The #2 pick has more value than that. You're basically getting two midish level 1st round picks and two rentals for a top tier pick. It's not a good investment if I'm the Titans. If they want to roll with Mettenberger, I feel that is a wise move. He has all the physical tools to be a successful NFL quarterback. But that doesn't mean you get desperate to deal the #2 pick. Instead you draft Leonard Williams. He is the safest pick in the entire draft, and is worth more alone than is potentially being offered by King Chip.

I would love to have Leonard Williams on my team, but there's no such thing as a sure thing. I'm sure the Texans would've shot down a similar trade last year, but they'd be looking pretty smart a year later to have two mid-1st like Zach Martin & CJ Mosley instead of taking Clowney.
