No one is a sure thing, but Leonard Williams is #1 on a lot of draft boards for a reason. Let's give Clowney a chance to come back from his injury. He's a magnificent talent who is still very young.

I don't see Philly parting ways with Cox, as he is the Anchor of that line, and there is really no adequate replacement. Kendricks, whom I really like, has become expendable due to the recent LB acquisitions and his contract, so they will try to move him.
I'll be so happy when the Titans or Browns draft Mariota and all this trade speculation can finally die down.

As a Teddy Bridgewater fan, I sure hope that the Vikings will draft WR Parker with their #11 pick and reuniting that tandem.

So Todd McShay and Hair Kiper did a back-and-forth mock of the first 3 rounds. They have Jacksonville taking Vic Beasley. In the second round.

The Kiper/McShay draft was who they would take, not who they predict will be taken, and neither Kiper or McShay are fans of Beasley, with Kiper ranking him #40 and McShay ranking him #41. In their most recent mocks Kiper has Beasley going #8 to Atlanta and McShay has him going to New Orleans at #13.

Minnesota has more pressing needs than WR. Unless Cooper falls, I would rather see MIN take Waynes or Scherff or even Landon Collins. Most mocks have Collins going around picks 20-25, but the Vikings need a safety to play beside Smith, and this year's safety class is weak. If your guy is there, why not take him.
As for WR, this class is pretty rich. I would avoid Green-Beckham, but there's plenty of other talented Day 2 guys.

I've seen mocks with Williams falling to us at #4, Raiders should jump all over that if he's still there, and we can get a WR in the second round... If not I'd be happy with Cooper or White... So excited for Thursday

Only way we don't take Mariota is if someone offers us an amazing trade. I guess I should change my avatar.

Reasons why the pick will be Mariota:
1. Instantly makes us relevant again (for the time being) - average NFL fan cannot name a single Titan right now.
2. Increases our fan base and ticket sales. All Ducks fans will become Titans fans.
3. It buys Whiz and Webster at least one more season employed even if we suck horrendously again.
4. Marketability... We don't have a face of the franchise or someone you'll see all over TV.

Do I think Mariota will bust? Yes, more than likely, but once he's a Titan, he's gonna have my full support. This is a Hail Mary pick though IMO.

Week 1: Winston vs Mariota... It's happening. And it's exactly why the NFL scheduled Titans/Bucs week 1.

Giving up on Mettenberger already?

According to NFL Network's Ian Rappanport, Browns have covet Marriota and is talking to Titans for the 2nd pick.

No. Not necessarily. Impossible to really give up on a rookie that only played 6 games and had the best passer rating of all rookies not named Bridgewater.

But my personal commitment to Mettenberger was based more on the fact that the rest of our team had so many holes and that Mariota has bust written all over him.

It's so hard to evaluate Mett's performance from last year. We had the worst OL in the league, and we did nothing to protect him or help him out. When the protection was fine, nobody was open. He holds onto the ball too long and demonstrates poor decision making at times, but that's expected as a rookie. He definitely has the typical NFL arm that you want in a QB. Add in the fact that the defense was awful and surrendered 3+ TDs in the first half like clockwork, and it doesn't exactly help Mett. No running game either. All around disaster.

Really pissed me off when Whiz decided to leave Mett in late against the Giants where he was already taking a beating the whole game (we were down 36-7), and then Mett gets killed and is out for the season. Really smart, Whiz. Would've been nice to pull him and get a few more starts out of him to further evaluate his ability as a NFL QB rather than only having 6 games to watch.

I think deep down both Webster and Whiz would prefer to stick with Mett. But they realize they're on the hot seat to make a splash.

I'm just playing Devil's advocate here.

My dream all along has been to get 3+ picks from Cleveland for our #2 pick... #12 and #19 + next year's 1st rounder. Make it happen, Webster.

I would be absolutely ecstatic if it happened, but I won't get my hopes up, and I expect that we are forced to pick at #2 - and go with Mariota.

Between the toe concern and now pot, maybe Ray can fall to us in the 2nd round?

I love the guy and believe he's the best pure pass rusher in the draft alongside Beasley. Would be so happy if he fell to #33 and we took him.
