Was a train wreck today...i love it

Sounds like Kraft is all about taking the NFL to court. I sure hope he does. Blandino lying doesn't help the NFL too much

With that many leaks in the NFL FO...all of his personal info would be all over TMZ if he ever gave up his phone

Exactly. A blanket "oh our servers got compromised" crap would have been issued. It would have been Jennifer Lawrence level leaks of private photos, contacts, emails, banking...who knows what else on the phone. I don't care how "limited" the information is it's baffling people are so willing to turn on him because he doesn't think he has to turn over his phone. They must all be cool with their employers riffling through their personal electronics and the NSA is their buddy.

What is amazing to me is they have the other phones. If texts were deleted or whatever but they had the texts from the other side, clearly his messages didn't disappear from their phones if he sent responses. Such a mess over .5 lbs of air.

It's funny. I've asked multiple Pats fans questions on this issue, and NOT ONE has responded.

So I ask this to everyone, especially Pats fans as from most of their replies I infer that they think Brady is innocent of any wrong doing.

I'd love to here any and all Patriots fans thoughts on all matters.

It seems to me most dispute the Wells report, and many cling to the notion that Brady is 100% innocent.

Is that an accurate assessment? If so, why?

I've discussed this issue with quite a few people online and off, and while there is no general consensus on the punishment, almost everyone I've talked to or heard from agrees there something wasn't right. Whether it was the information in the report or the Patriots/Brady reluctance to co-operate. The vast majority of those who still believe he is innocent of all charges are Patriots fans, even so with all the information at hand I do find surprising.

The punishment was much harsher than I imagined. I posted after the Wells report that I thought it'd be a 1-2 game suspension, and little punishment for the team. But after reading statements released it is obvious the reason. Don't F*** with an investigation. Brady & the Patriots played along for awhile, but then chose to stonewall, knowing no smoking gun would be found. They figured they'd get away clean, but I am glad the hammer came down. I am STILL waiting for any reason Brady wouldn't turn over his phone information. His own attorney would have been the one to go over any information that would be handed over to the investigation. Who but a guilty party would refuse that offer?

I'm trying to figure out why you have such a vested interest in this matter.
If you don't mind, can I ask you a few questions?

1. Do you work for the media? (Newspaper, TV, Blogger)

2. What is your favorite NFL team? (I'm a Titans Fan, FYI)

3. If Brady appeals the decision and his penalty is reduced, will you be upset? If so, why?

4. Are you aware of a game, a play, or any instance where the Patriots benefitted by having a pound of air taken out of a football?

5. Were you upset when the Patriots went on to win the Super Bowl with properly inflated footballs?

I'm just curious. I think these are valid questions. I'm not trying to be rude or a jerk or anything. Just trying to get to the bottom of your obsession with this subject.

Nope, but that isn't the point. From the evidence provided Pats employees altered game balls after the officials verified them as being game ready.

Yes! Only because I loathe the Patriots, and more the bandwagon fans who claim to be Patriots fans. But to answer the question I think you are asking, no; I think the Patriots won both the AFC Championship game and the SB on even ground.

Obsession? Really? I love to hate the Pats... and the jest and the jills... but with that I am objective. I can see how you might question that, as many of Patriots Nation has left me in stitches.

Im a patriots fan who lives in Boston and though I think the Wells report is full of crap, anyone who doesn't think Brady or, any other quarterback for that matter, try to inflate or deflate the game balls to their liking is completely delusional.

As far as the punishment, I think we can all agree that the NFL we wayyyyy over board. I believe they are in damage control because of the bad rap the league endured during the whole Ray Rice thing.

Ted Wells Slams Brady and his Agent says direct not circumstantial evidence proved Brady knew WTF was going on.

Quote:
New York — The lawyer who investigated the New England Patriots insisted Tuesday that he found direct, not just circumstantial, evidence to show quarterback Tom Brady knew team employees were deflating footballs.

Wells specifically mentioned two series of text exchanges between officials' locker room attendant Jim McNally and equipment assistant John Jastremski. In one, McNally referred to himself as "the Deflator" and joked about going to ESPN. In another, Jastremski mentioned speaking to Brady the previous night, saying the quarterback knew McNally was stressed out by needing to deflate the balls.

He also disputed Yee's characterization of the investigation as a "sting," noting that NFL officials initially didn't take the Colts' complaints seriously during January's AFC Championship game.

Wells said the Patriots were cooperative, with two major exceptions: declining a request for a second interview with McNally, and Brady's refusal to turn over phone records. Wells said he had told Brady and Yee he did not need to see his phone and would have accepted a list of communications.

Wait a minute weren't folks, in the very forum, up in arms that the NFL used "their" hired firm to conduct the investigation of the Ray Rice tape?
Now the NFL is using "their" hired firm in deflategate and it's all a rose garden.

I'm a Pats fan.

All that the Wells report proves is that Jim McNally lied to NFL investigators about going to the restroom before the Indianapolis Colts game. It didn't prove what he did in there, why he went in there, or if anyone told him to go in there. IMO, it's reasonable to surmise that he went in there to deflate the footballs. What is not reasonable to surmise is that anyone told him to tamper with the footballs after the officials approved them. All the text messages prove is that Brady was pissed off because he was consistently getting footballs which were overinflated, and he complained to one of the equipment personnel.

As for why Brady didn't turn over his cell phone or it's "contents", it's because he doesn't have to. If there were a "smoking gun" text, it would have been found on one of the other phones already. As is, all that would be gleamed from Brady's phone are text messages where a multi-million dollar athlete most likely uses some rather creative language towards a team employee who's just trying to make a living. I believe that Brady and his team didn't want to deal with the public relations hit of a superstar athlete verbosely berating a team employee.

I have two questions that I haven't seen a good answer to.

1) Why did the guy refer to himself as "the deflator" if nothing happened?

2) Why has Brady been so wishy-washy in his denials? Where is the flat "I didn't do anything!"
