There's gonna be several games each year affected by this. So I guess that makes things interesting, but I still hate it.

I expect Succop to miss at least 3-4 PATs. Granted we will probably get blown out in those games anyways. Lol

I'm just glad they didn't go for Chip Kelly's stupid idea of a 15-yard line FG and a 1-yard line 2-point conversion.

Well there's only 1 yard difference between that and what they chose, so I'd say it's still pretty stupid.

I'm sure it'll get nothing.... but surely the Titans should get in trouble for something more than tax evasion for this....

Quote:
NFL sellout streaks are practically meaningless except to show fans’ interest when lobbying for a stadium financing, and to avoid blackouts. According to a report from NewsChannel 5 in Nashville, the Titans had a deal with a ticket broker to keep their streak alive and stay on TV.

The report claims that the Titans had an agreement with Florida ticket broker Cole Rubin, in which Rubin received the opportunity to box out the scalping competition on in-demand matchups in order to inflate the tickets’ resale value. In return, Rubin bought blocks of tickets to unsexy games, but those tickets technically being “sold” kept the Titans’ sellout streak going, even if no one was actually filling up LP Field to watch the sadness within. As The Tennessean notes, the Titans could trumpet that sellout streak to get more money when cutting local ad deals.

The report also claims that the Titans fudged their accounting to cover up the deal. They allegedly gave Rubin free tickets to preseason games, which were “written off on the team’s books as donations to the military.”

Ticket manager Marty Collins and assistant Tim Zenner reportedly made the arrangement, while executive vice president Don MacLachlan approved it. All three left the team in February; Collins and Zenner were fired, while MacLachlan resigned.

The Titans acknowledged that they had relationships with ticket brokers, but denied any tax workarounds, saying in a statement that they had paid the tax “on every single ticket we have ever sold since it went into effect in 2009.” The team is conducting an internal investigation, and the NFL plans to review its findings.

All teams (especially crappy ones like us) do this. If there's a penalty it would be very minor. I've known about this for a long, long time. It's very obvious. Stadium half full = sell out. Yea, not buying that.

If we were punished it would be in line with what your Falcons got for pumping crowd noise in.

I don't expect much to come from this.

I'm fine with them moving the extra point back, but I'm glad the 2 point conversation stays at the 2 yard line. If anything it should be moved back. Moving it up would have been very poor judgement, and I'm glad they showed good sense.

Quote:
Buffalo Bills defensive tackle has been suspended without pay for the first game of the 2015 regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, the NFL announced via a spokesperson Thursday.

Dareus will miss the team's season opener in Orchard Park against the Indianapolis Colts on September 13. He is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.
Dareus has released the following statement:

Last year, I made a mistake involving possession of a banned substance. The NFL’s discipline for this conduct is part of the drug policy, and I apologize to my family, my teammates, the entire Bills organization and Bills fans that I will miss one game as a result of my mistake. I will work intensely that week and will be extremely happy to contribute to a win in week two for the Bills.”
Better than I expected to be honest.

This is always the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about a missed PAT or miracle comeback to tie.

So good.

According to the link the Texans, Redskins, and Bills are the finalists to appear on Hard Knocks. I thought the Bills couldn't be forced because they have a new coach, but apparently the wording is first-year coach and not new coach, and since Rex has previous head coaching experience he isn't considered a first-year coach. No word when an announcement on who will be on Hard Knocks will be made, but last year the announcement was made on June 12 so an announcement could come in the next few weeks.

The Bills beat writers are saying that the Bills have made it strongly known that they don't want to be on Hard Knocks and the NFL seems willing to respect that.

I wish it was the Chargers and the Rams involved in this.
I think it's gonna be weird having two teams from the same division playing at the same stadium.
Could create some odd scheduling in the (very) rare chance that both teams make the playoffs.

Either way, I can't wait to work on the possible stadium.
I worked on the Home Depot Center complex, the Galen Center, the Staples Center, ESPN LA, and the recent renovation of Dodger Stadium.

I think the Texans have said they don't want to be on the show either. If the NFL respects the Bills and Texans wishes, then Redskins... Tag! You're it!

They've already said that if the Chargers and Raiders share a stadium then one of them will move to the NFC West, with the Cardinals most likely moving to the AFC West.

Oh. Cool. That makes more sense. Still wish the Rams were coming back here instead of the Raiders.

Yea if 2 teams go & thats almost a given then 1 will be nfc (fox) the other afc (cbs) cause they want each network to have an LA team for the majority of its game.
