It doesn't seem like they're in much of a hurry. They want Wilson to take a deal like Kaep and Dalton where most of the guaranteed money is in the first 2 seasons and after that it goes season-to-season with no guaranteed money, and if he won't do that they'll let him play out this season at $1.5 million, franchise him after next season, and then franchise him again. This puts all the pressure on Wilson since he won't have any sort of long-term security in the event he gets injured or has a terrible season which hurts his value.

Wilson is not that good or they would've won the Super Bowl, he may never live up to all the hype he's had around him since he entered the league. Apparently Seattle agrees or they would've already paid him since franchise QBs you don't let go of.

Didn't Wilson win a Championship? He was trying to win his 2nd Championship.

The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, all through the town! With that offensive line, one of the best runningbacks in the league and that dirty but good defense, it would take an absolute duck of a QB to screw that up.

The Russell Wilson hate is unreal.

I guess maybe some haven't watched him as closely as I have and probably only judge him for his poor performance against Green Bay... Although he more than redeemed himself with the clutch finish to the game, miracle or not.

I seem to recall Big Ben being absolutely horrible and borderline useless in his first SB win against Seattle... doesn't mean he's not a damn fine QB.

To take away from a QB because his OL, defense, and run game are good is ridiculous. You'd have to do that for a lot of all time great QBs if that's how you judge a QB.

Go look at how the Seahawks run game and defense ranked before Wilson got there in 2012. He has made both their run game and defense better. He has made Lynch sooooo much better. Mobile QBs can do wonders for RBs. And as for the defense, a QB that can sustain drives and take care of the football... Keeps defenses well rested and not starting drives with bad field position.

Also, he had more total yards, more total TDs, and a higher passed rating in his first three years than Brady had in his first three years. So... What about that?

Don't take my word for it, ask the Seattle Seahawks why QBs like Ryan Tannehill and Scam Newton are signing lucrative contracts but they balk at an extension for a QB that just "guided" them to back to back SBs.

You do realize you are saying this, of all things, as a Dallas fan!
Last season Dallas had:

1) arguably the best O-line in the league
2) best RB in the game
3) top 3 WR in the game
4) top 5 QB
Add to that a likely HoF TE and serviceable defense, yet they couldn't get it done.

I have no hate for Wilson, but the fact is he's entering the final year of his rookie contract and there's been little progress on a new deal, so clearly Wilson's people and the Seahawks have very different opinions on his worth. Maybe a deal will get done by the time the season starts, but right now it seems like both sides are content letting the deal run out and then going through another contract showdown next offseason with the Seahawks franchising Wilson.

Yeah the defense wasn't good enough to make up for mistakes by the offense against Green Bay. Arguably the best o-line in the game? Top 3 in run-blocking but probably middle of the pack in pass-blocking, hopefully after another year playing together they'll all improve in that area. Would help if we could find someone to play all 16 games at a solid to really good level at RT. I do think Leary's going to get relegated to back-up at LG with Collins in the fold.

Clearly having just a good offense is equivalent to having both a good offense and a good defense in the mind of this Eagles fan.

And I continue to be amused by like half your posts containing the words "Dallas fan" or something similar.

Bills-Jaguars game this Oct. 25 from London will be broadcast live on Yahoo, free and open to everyone everywhere.
Glad this game will be available for free since it's the only game going on at the time (9:30 AM ET), but I still think it's bull that people with Sunday Ticket don't get the game on DirecTV. I fear that if there's no problems broadcasting the game online then next year they could expand the number of games that are only available online.

At least they picked a game nobody outside Buffalo or Jacksonville will probably care about.

Unless you have lesean mccoy on your fantasy team.

Think there will be enough "quality was terrible / picture kept stuttering" issues for this to be a failure.

Because he wants more than those guys. That's why the contract talks continue. Doesn't mean they don't value him.

I assure you when the contract is done he'll get AT LEAST what Cam/Big Ben got. Plenty of fully guaranteed money.

Seattle seems very willing to play the franchise tag game with him.
