That is a terrible analogy.

This isn't a criminal court where there has to be evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. The language says that he was more than likely guilty, which is more than enough to be suspended IMO. Think of it as civil vs criminal court.

Give a prior incident where a punishment was handed out for a violation of the integrity of the game in which the person did not cooperate. Then we can see if it was excessive or wrong.

They wouldn't even win a dime in civil court. The "evidence" is trash. If they go by the refs recollection, the Pats are innocent. They cherry picked everything to suit their witch hunt.

Show me an instance where a player got 4 games for failure to cooperate.

Didn't Goodell suspend Sean Payton for 1 year saying ignorance isn't an excuse? Yet Belichick is off the hook? The same guy who admitted to cheating in the past?

The Patriots are being punished harshly because the league wants to look competent in the wake of the Ray Rice debacle except they look just the opposite.

That's not why he received the suspension in the first place. We are going around in circles tbh.

I think Payton got a raw deal.

When you are talking about the integrity of the game, punishments will always be considered to be harsh. Look at Pete Rose....

Using Favre as an example is laughable.

If you can't see that that the league is taking every opportunity to paint them as guilty, I don't know what to say. There was leak after leak that turned out to be false. There's even leaks about what went down in the appeal on Tuesday. Goodell stayed mum the whole time so no one could call him out later if it went sideways. Now he comes down hard so he looks competent in front of the owners. Who cares if they're actually guilty or not? You've already make them guilty in the court of public opinion with all the leaks. They're the Patriots so they can take it, they're the Dark Knight of the NFL

Why would he risk his close association with Robert Kraft? Surely he could have went after a different organization that he does not have such close ties to. lol the Pats are Batman.

Patriots have a known history of YEARS of cheating, I fully believe that they deflated footballs. Brady was suspended because he chose not to cooperate in any manner whatsoever with the investigation.

Oh yeah, they haven't said a peep!

Can...not...wait...for this to be over.

Maybe having 31 owners on your side is better than having just one?

Why would they say anything except for the Colts

They are better off not saying a peep.

Lol! Because every team is guilty of not strictly obeying inflation tolerances.
That's why they are not talking.

Well one thing I learned from all this nonsense is that the typical Goodell haters must hate the Pat more.

They aren't talking because who would want to get in the middle of this

They may very well be, but it's the Pats who were caught. That's like the guy who speeds and tells the officer that the car in front of me was going faster. You should have pulled him over instead lol.

Aaaaand that was my point.
The NFL knows it's has put itself in a bad position. It's devaluing its own product with all this nonsense.
In the other corner Brady doesn't have to do squat, and I hope he doesn't. He's set for life, has four rings, passing records and will be a first ballot. No need to admit anything and tarnish a legacy.
So yeah, pretty much nonsense.

But again, love how the Goodell haters are firmly in his corner on this...this the most grievous of crimes!

It's not devaluing the product at all. The product will be as popular as it ever has been and will continue to print money. Brady is guilty due to his suspicious behavior. Someone who is not guilty would prove everything in their power to exonerate themselves.

So a Goodell "hater" has to disagree with every thing he does. That makes sense .

Goodell is scum and so is Brady, I hope if anything, people take that away from all of this.

The games biggest star won't be there on opening night. Of course that devalues the product. I never said it would bankrupt the product.
Oh really you would turn over your phone, even if not guilty? Knowing that all your private info will then go public? Wow! Hats off to you.
Uhm, typically a hater doesn't agree with what he does...thusly the whole hater thing.

It doesn't devalue the product one iota . It actually strengthens it by saying the integrity of the game will not be fiddled with anyone even by it's star players. Just like MLB and Pete Rose .

You do not have to turn your phone over. There can be a system put in place to allow for any required materials to be sensitively handed over to the commissioner. A neutral trusted 3rd party could provide such a system. But that of course would require you to copping to the truth and being honest

Whenever any business loses one of its biggest assets, of course it will lose value. This is just common sense. Of course nobody will know how much value.
But yes, a game without Tom Brday is less valuable than a game with Tom Brady. Everyone knows this...or almost everybody.

And no it's called setting a precedent, and that's what Brady is doing. It's a total invasion of privacy. That just a fact!
