Wondering when it will be time to make McGee the starter, perhaps gluing Romo's butt to the bench for awhile will inspire him to pull his head out of his nether regions.
The very qualities that make Romo a good quarterback (aggression, confidence, daring) are the same qualities that make him a terrible quarterback.

I don't know if this is funny or sad, but after Romo threw the third pick, I googled "F---ing Tony Romo", and the first hit was a post complaining about how the Cowboys had a game locked up until Romo turned the ball over allowing the other team to win. Then I looked at the timestamp. The post was from 2008.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Remember when people used to blame Romo's girlfriends for his turnovers?

I'm going to say this much to the chagrin of ESPN and the rest of the national media...Aaron Rodgers, not their precious Tom Brady, is the best QB right now, hands down. That game he played yesterday is one of the greatest QB performances ever. I say this for two reasons. First, ARodg is a monster and second, I'm so sick of hearing about how great Tom Brady is. Sure he's great, but when do you give a guy his due?

Rodgers is 4th in passing yards while throwing the ball far less than 13 other QB's, he's by far first in passer rating, 2nd in TD passes, and the one I'm most proud of him for, 5 pass completions of more than 40 yards. 3 more than Brady. Rodgers goes big. Green Bay brethren, help me out.

I'm sorry to say but Brady is right there with him. A-Rod had a great game....against Denver. Remember that. They are still rebuilding. And as shocking as it sounds, GB has more weapons in the passing game. Finley, Jennings, Driver, Nelson, Cobb. It's ridiculous. They took a big lead and kept throwing the ball deep to run up the score. They are made to have a lot of big plays.

Whereas the Pats these days are more tuned to chain moving long drives. Yeah Brady can make some big plays but they want to control the game because the longer he's on the field the better chance they have. And they still do the RB by committee thing.

So for me, it's still a tie between them at the top.

Then you have the almost elite:
P. Manning (yeah, he's downgraded from elite now) Brees, Rivers, Stafford (when healthy), Schaub, Fitzpatrick.

Then the next tier:
Flacco, Vick, Freeman, Ryan, E. Manning.

Then the few below:
Romo, Sanchez, Hasselbeck, Cutler, Kolb, Orton, Grossman, Rapist.

I still think Peyton is in the Elite category and that Brees has to join them as well. So my top tier would be in no particular order, Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Manning. The rest of your list I have no arguments with.

But back to your running up the score argument, I'm not going to dispute that. But what a lot of people base their argument of Brady being the best on is his '07 season. Talk about running up the score...so that goes both ways. I still think Rodgers is a cut above the rest.

I wonder what the Bengals would do if Carson Palmer showed up now. It seems clear that Dalton is their QB now and Palmer showing up would really cause a distraction. Palmer can show up at anytime and he will be due a prorated salary of $11.5 million. The team couldn't suspend him or bar him from the team. I wonder if the Bengals would try and trade him now while his value is at it's lowest, hold onto him for the rest of the season and trade him in the offseason, or if Bengals owner Mike Brown is really stubborn enough that he'd hold onto Palmer as a backup out of spite rather than get something for him.

Anyone have thoughts about Rob Ryan calling Megatron the 3rd best WR on Dallas' team? I really like Austin and hope he gets healthy (it would've been a different game if he played); I don't like Bryant at all but recognize he's a heck of an athlete. But come on, Megatron is at least tied for the best WR on that team (and most other teams).

Can't stand coordinators running their mouths. I like Romo, Garrett, Austin, and Ware (my buddy's client), but other parts of that Dallas franchise rub me the wrong way.

Also: Romo's meltdown didn't lose the game by itself. If the Lions didn't have the mettle they have, they would've lost.

FWIW, I hope they tell Palmer to get the heck out of dodge. Dalton has been impressive considering the debacle of a situation he's in up in Cincy. I hope they continue to progress and get back to the elite teams.

I hope that megatron reference isn't in anyway related to Dez Bryant, maybe you meant 3rd best on the lions

There is only one Megatron and he worked that Cowboys secondary, about as bad as Rex Grossman works doughnuts.

Terrible ownership is what caused the collapse in Cincy to begin with......

Don't let the impressive play by some young players like Green and Dalton blind you from the fact that major problems still exist in Cincy, and they won't be able to be 'great' until some major areas of concern are addressed.

Megatron was a reference to Calvin Johnson. Last week Rob Ryan said Calvin Johnson would be the third best receiver if he played for the Cowboys behind Dez and Miles Austin.

Yeah Mike Brown doesn't give a **** Seem's like he'd rather go 0-16 then win with Palmer gone.

No, Ryan (Dallas' DC) said last week that Calvin Johnson would be the 3rd best WR on Dallas' team.

I'm not "blinded" by anything. They're a progressing team. I agree the ownership (and coaching) is horrendous, though. That said, I agree with them re: Palmer.

Oh... Yeah right... Both Bryant and Austin are fine if you play KC every week, they'll get 100-200 yards easy, but they vanish real quick against any kind of challenge. Instead guys like Andre Johnson, Fitz, and CJ explode in situations where they need too.

If the Lions had "mettle", they would have won on their own. Instead, the opposing quarterback spotted them 21 points.

The logical team would get rid of Palmer, but Mike Brown is just crazy enough to keep him as an $11.5 million backup rather than give in to Palmer's demands. I would guess Palmer's agent is going to start trying to find out what would happen if Palmer showed up and if ownership has softened their stance on trading him now that Dalton looks like a legit starter. If Brown's position is still to hold onto Palmer my guess is Palmer will sit out the season and try to get the Bengals to trade him in the offseason.

No he didn't. He threw 3 INTs, 2 of which were returned for TDs. I don't recall Romo running back the INTs - pretty sure the Lions players did that. I don't recall Romo throwing TD passes to Calvin Johnson - pretty sure Matt Stafford did that. And it's happened 2 weeks in a row, both away games.

Bad teams fold when the chips are stacked against them. The Lions are no longer a bad team. If you think they don't have "mettle," I'm not sure if we're watching the same sport.
