Tom Coughlin ended up with the exact same win % with both teams he's coached.

Jacksonville (1995-02) .531
NY Giants (2004-15) .531

His teams only had a winning record in 10 of 20 seasons. Basically his regular season track record is very similar to Jeff Fisher - master of winning 6 to 10 games a year. Difference is Coughlin will make the HOF based on two great postseasons.

LOL gosh why do I always forget to stop by each week

Hi boys

Hiiiiiiiiiii Wolive how about them cowboys...

My expectations are tame, and I'm just happy we APPEAR [cause who knows year to year] to slowly start rebuilding and turning the corner. I feel like even if they can get passed the Packers, which honestly how bad they're banged up in the secondary is unlikely. I feel like Rodgers will light their holes up, and put on a clinic unless we can get real pressure upfront.

Scot McCloughan is the real deal. His signings have almost all panned out, and I can really see he knows his stuff. I'm truly hoping Dan Snyder can not let his fandom and ego get in the way regardless of a brutal loss this Sunday, or a bad season next year, and just let the guy keep pulling rabbits on free agents and drafting.

Cousins seems to be turning the corner as far as quarterback play and I really hope hes finally our answer for the long term. I still think we need a year or two more of this kind of play to lock in 100+ million for 5-7 years. But I'm fine if they do a 3-4, or even franchise at 19-20 and we see where we're at next year. I do think he's over some of his mental demons, but the fact that he had them in the first place worries me because even though his on the field play is awesome, you're an emotional crisis away from being right back in that hole.

We've heard here locally about some private incidents where hes taken the bullets for teammates and is BELOVED inside the locker room. So that's something you didn't see with Robert, even though that guy could play the media game so well like singing the redskins song at draft day.

RG3... I honestly don't care where he goes, or if he succeeds, personally I don't think he has the health, or work ethic to be a staple in this league, and he might have a flash season or two like Vick did with the Eagles and then that'll wrap up his career. He's arrogant, and honestly when your teammates don't invite you to team parties and stuff after hours, that says a lot about what kind of person you are.

Gruden I'm still unsure of, but again more a wait and see approach. Still so jaded from all the bad years, and honestly I think we were a 4-12 season away from Snyder pulling the rug out on everyone. So I'm still very very nervous that this won't have time to develop. But I'm hopeful.

I think they'll eek out a win vs. the Packers IF THEY CAN GET OFF TO A FAST START. Then I don't think they have an answer for Carolina, and I defiantly don't think they'll have an answer with a banged up secondary for Arizona's ability to spread out the field.

Even if they lose by 40 it was a good season and I cautiously await the futre with optimism.

Yeah I think right now the Redskins are the cream of the crop of the worst division in football. I do think RG III might do better back in Texas where he grew up on a new team in a new environment. I just wonder if we're the team to fix him, other than Romo we haven't exactly been known for good QBs since Aikman.

They have lots of holes to fill, and they defiantly are the best of a bad bunch, but personally I think they have the most upside right now of any of our Division teams. For the first time, they appear to be the most stable franchise in the Division.

Anyone who thinks they've arrived is fooling themselves we have those fans around here. They still need drastic changes, but again I think Scot McCloughan with these signings and hopefully he'll look even better if Kerry Washington comes in with veteran Playoff/Superbowl Exp and contributes. Deserves the right to keep this team chugging along.

If we go 4-12 next year and there is as much chaos as there was in the front offices beginning of this year. I think we could instantly find ourselves back in last place chaos mode.

I won't be surprised if they keep rolling and they win 35-17, but I won't be shocked if they get lit up 14-41 and Kirk throws 3 picks. There are just too many unknowns with them. I'm just happy they took a division win, and finished strong and with purpose. I can't ever recall the redskins getting to rest a starter at the end of the season in my lifetime lol

It's making the news here that Calvin Johnson might be doing a Barry Sanders and walking away from the NFL at a relatively young age.

Quote:
The star wide receiver said today in a statement that he is evaluating his options, expects to have a decision soon

His fingers are gnarled. He spends as much time in the training room as anyone on the team. And a lingering ankle injury forced him to miss large amounts of practice time this year, for the second straight season.

All that wear and tear has caused Johnson to contemplate his future. He has mentioned the subject of retirement to at least one former teammate.

And today, Johnson released a joint statement with the Lions, saying he is evaluating his future and should have an answer soon.

“Like many players at this stage of their career, I am currently evaluating options for my future," Johnson said in the statement. I would expect to have a decision regarding this matter in the not-too-distant future.”

The Lions said in the statement: "We obviously have profound respect for Calvin and certainly understand and appreciate his decision to give proper thought and consideration to his football future."

Longtime Detroit radio host Terry Foster wrote in a column on The Ticket's website Tuesday that he thinks Johnson could walk away from the game, and several people who know the Pro Bowl receiver agree that it's not a far-fetched scenario.

"There has been some conversations about it, not asking me how it is," said one former teammate who asked to remain anonymous because of the personal nature of his talks with Johnson. "But I think the guy's beat up. I think he's been through enough. And I think it's just his time. He's made the money, got the records, but whatever. I don't know for sure if he's going to do it. I don't know if he's going to get that itch to keep going. I really don't know."

One of the best receivers in the NFL since the Lions took him with the second pick of the 2007 NFL draft, Johnson set a single-season record with 1,964 yards receiving three years ago and was selected for his sixth straight Pro Bowl this fall. But his production has declined in the face of injuries the last few years.

Just looked him up, can't believe he's only 30. Seems like he's been doing this forever! I hope he stays a few more years, but I understand getting out.

If Johnson does decide to return it will be interesting to see whether he'll take a big pay cut or get released, because there's no way the Lions are going to keep him with a $16 million salary and $24 million cap number.

Maybe Calvin Johnson is tired of playing for a loser just like Barry Sanders was.

I always knew Calvin was going to be a star in this league, but he wasn't well known until his breakout season a few years back. I remember telling a few friends of mine several years ago to watch out for Calvin, he's going to be great.

But nothing hits me more when Barry left the game. I was stunned when he announced his retirement growing up.

Calvin was a beast even at Georgia Tech. There's a reason Lane Kiffin wanted to draft him instead of Jamarcus Russel. All Davis forced the pick and you see how that ended. Back to Megatron, he had over a 1000 yards receiving in a triple option offense. He was a once in a decade can't miss wide receiver.

It's a sure thing that his contract would have to be restructured.

I'm sure he is, but unlike Barry, he's very banged up and not the player he once was.
