his improvement is obvious.....still has some things to work on this throwing mechanics (misses wide open receivers more than he should)......but the cockiness factor has also gone up.

i've never been a fan of show-boating after a touchdown or getting a first down.....regardless of who does it.

Exactly! Act like you've been there before.

With that said, I will admit I kept expecting Cam to regress this season but he seemed to plug away all season long. IMO, he has certainly "done more with less". Just think of all the players no longer playing there, this season: Steve Smith, Kelvin Benjamin(IR), DeAngelo Williams, Greg Hardy.
As much as I don't care for all the celebrating, Cam seems to be good guy and I do like how he makes it a point to hand game balls to kids in the stands.
BUT....I'm still pulling for Peyton!

I like Cam but you can't just compare different eras like that. QB numbers have spiked BIG since the 1980's-90's when Marino played. An 85 QB rating and 60% completion rate was considered outstanding back then. Nowadays those numbers don't even guarantee you a starting job in the NFL. The stats QB's are putting up these days are by far greater than any time in NFL history.

Interesting to think how different the league would be if Andrew Luck had gone pro after his redshirt sophomore year rather than stay in school for another year. Luck was pretty much the consensus #1 pick so he almost certainly would have ended up in Carolina. The Broncos had traded up the prior year to get Tim Tebow so they likely would have traded down or stuck with Von Miller at #2 (although they had a new coach in John Fox who didn't want Tebow so Cam may have been in play for them). That means that Newton could have potentially ended up in Buffalo at #3 or the Bengals (who would draft Dalton in the second round that year) at #4.

Being the team that stopped them from going undefeated?

You have to wonder, on some level, does Belichick wish he hadn't lobbied so hard for longer extra point attempts?

Too bad they don't make band-aids for feelings 😎😎. Deal with it, keep him out of the end zone

Anybody else notice that Gronk actually dropped that streak pass down the middle toward the end of the game? I wonder why it wasn't reviewed.

I couldn't tell, but it was close. I was expecting them to review it, but if the past 4 months is any indication, I have unrealistic expectations for the NFL officials

I'm sure it would have been challenged, though it probably would have been upheld unless there was a better camera angle showing it hit the ground. But I could tell the way the ball was coming out that it had to have hit the ground as he rolled over. Anyway it's moot but it would have been interesting if the Pats had won the game.

The officials have a much higher "batting average" than the players.
Personally I think they do a great job, with the lightning quick speed of the game and only having a fraction of a second to make the call.

Anyone ever notice how when they do that "eyevision" camera & the camera spins around to a different angle of the play it gets a 3D look - but then when they start it again it loses it.

Exactly... It's not a selfish thing, he is just genuinely having a great time playing football. Just like his commercial says "if giving a kid a football after a touchdown just for a smile, or dancing in the end zone hurts people's feelings... Too bad they don't make band-aids for feelings" 😎😎

i don't remember Barry Sanders ever celebrating when he scored.....act like you've been there before.

the choreographed dances for scoring a touchdown or getting a sack is the most idiotic thing i've ever seen.

and if you notice......in my original post, i said i don't like showboating by anyone.....including Packers.

getting pumped up or excited after scoring is one thing.....high five your team mate or do the weird jump into each other thing on your way back to the sideline......but to go off on your own and do some dumb-ass dance move/wiggle is something else entirely.

look at Kaepernick......flexing and kissing is arm after scoring all the damn'd time.....what'd he do this past season?? not a thing.

Barry Sanders was just an extremely introverted guy who basically vanished from public sight the minute he retired. There aren't a lot of guys in the NFL with his type of personality. I always had the impression Barry didn't really enjoy playing football anyway. It was just something he considered a career. No surprise he retired young when he was still playing at a very high level. I don't see anything wrong with players celebrating a TD.

so how you feel about rodgers discount double checking? what's the difference between that and cam newton dabbing or a sack dance?
