No... He went undrafted and didn't start for three years.

Imagine this were 2003 and everyone was hyping up Romo as the best QB in the draft without knowing what's ahead. That would've been considered insanity. But in today's world it only takes a few people starting the hype train for a ton of others to buy in. Could Wentz be the next Romo (in terms of small school, bad competition to great success in the NFL)? Sure. But I think it's pretty unlikely.

The Wentz hype is honestly unlike anything I've ever seen and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go a lot later than the "experts" are projecting. What teams think and what talking heads think are two completely different things. Mock drafts are irrelevant. Especially when they're being made up before free agency even begins.

What blows my mind is the guy goes from a zero star recruit to potential top five pick. That's unheard of.

A lot of that has to do with timing. The QB market is very slim this year, even smaller if current QBs are franchised/signed. So an already desirous position becomes even more desirable due to small market.

Agreed, we're in dire salary cap straits this season. I expect Kerley and Cumberland to be goners and who knows what's gonna happen with Mo, Snacks and Powell.

Manziel needs to go completely underground for the next year. No public drinking, no bars, no clubs, no news stories. No team is going to consider signing him for the 2016 season, he's too toxic even if he's not indicted. If he could go a year completely out of the news he could have a shot at being picked up in 2017.

Don't underestimate Jerry's ability to over-ride common sense and try to make a move for the guy. I doubt we will sign him but I wouldn't rule it out either.

Yes, but he would need to 1.) have a mental breakthrough and realize he's ruining his life -or- 2.) have a great support group around him to give him the tough love he needs. I don't see either happening. It's a shame for such a talent to be wasted, but more importantly, I hope he can turn his life around and save himself.

He has to want to help himself, before he can even think about resuming a career in the NFL.

Tom Brady and the Patriots have agreed to a contract extension through 2019. No word yet on the money and if Brady will continue to be the most underpaid player in football or get a deal closer to market value.

I wouldn't be against drafting the kid in the first round if he can catch, still tentative after the horrifying results of the Morris Claiborne pick though.
