Cool move for a retired NFL player.

Daryn Colledge, Former NFL OL, to Join Army National Guard

Former NFL offensive lineman Daryn Colledge announced Tuesday that he would be joining the Army National Guard.

Colledge, 34, started 137 games in his nine-year career with the Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins. He retired after the 2014 season.

At one point in his career, Colledge started 122 straight games. He earned a championship ring with the Green Bay Packers in their Super Bowl XLV triumph over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Packers selected him in the second round of the 2006 draft out of Boise State.

Colledge, who grew up in North Pole, Alaska, has already had another venture other than his football career, as he is a co-owner of the Three Fat Guys wine label with fellow former Packers offensive linemen Tony Moll and Jason Spitz.

Anyway, I'm done arguing. Laugh it up at the Jets, everybody else does. I've been a fan of this train wreck far too long that I've pretty much heard it all regardless. All I care about at this point is getting a ring before I die, which given the way they conduct their business on and off the field, may be soon than later.

Hue Jackson should be good for him. Really good offensive mind that can get the most out of players.

In other news, the Carson Wentz hype train seems to be going full speed ahead.

Not surprised... Because they need a QB even if they want Wentz/Goff. I think they should still take Goff at #2 and let RG3 be the sacrificial lamb for this season. No rookie QB should be thrown into that dumpster fire.

I saw what happened to Mariota... And the Browns are in worse shape than what we were last year. Don't want to think of what a rookie QB would look like there. The OL has started to fall apart. Barnidge is their only weapon in the passing game. Luckily they have a coach who isn't a full blown moron like Whiz.

Just read Terrence Cody starved his dog to death and will spend 9 months in jail. Gotta say I wouldn't mind if they starve him to death.

Man, those Ravens sure do know how to draft some fine human beings. Wish Ray Ray and Ray Rice would go bunk with him. Punk losers.

Titans sign Rashad Johnson to 1yr deal.

I've got to be honest, I was hoping Philly would go after him. I watched him quite a bit last season, and like him. Despite him getting a little up there in age, he seems to be a pretty good baller.
Dude played while losing the tip of his finger!

I think he's possibly more a product of a really good defense... But I'm glad we signed him.

Haven't been mentioning any of our signings because most are just depth... and we're the Titans, so no one cares. But... Every player we have signed has been a significant upgrade to what we've had.

I also love that we have signed everyone, outside of Murray, Jones, and Matthews to 1 year deals... Jon Robinson is going to be a great GM. Webster would've given anyone and everyone 5 year/$35mil deals with $15-20 guaranteed. I've witnessed it. The clown did it with Michael Griffin.

Additions:
DeMarco Murray
Ben Jones
Rishard Matthews
Rashad Johnson
Sean Spence
Antwon Blake
Brice McCain
Matt Cassel

Subtractions:
Michael Griffin
Coty Sensabaugh
Zach Brown
Mike Martin
Sammie Hill

Can't complain... And I can't wait for the draft.

Found this interesting. The most common sports related head injury takes place in equestrian (horseback riding), and it isn't even close. Contact sports like football and soccer account for less than half of the head injuries as equestrian. Though among children contact sports is #1.

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/horse-r...ry?id=38090435

Quote:
In the database, 45.2 percent of TBI among adults were related to horseback riding, dwarfing the other causes. The second-leading cause of sports-related traumatic brain injury was falls or hits from contact sports like football and soccer, but that accounted for just 20.2 percent of TBIs.

Source - http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...for-bar-fight/

Quote:
Bills running back LeSean McCoy will reportedly not face charges in connection with a bar fight in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia legal blog BigTrial.net was the first of multiple outlets to report that prosecutors have decided not to file any charges.

McCoy and former NFL running back Curtis Brinkley were accused of involvement in a fight that ended with two off-duty police officers being hospitalized.

The mayor of Philadelphia and the president of the Fraternal Order of Police have both said they believe McCoy should be charged. A cell phone video of the incident has been published, although it’s not clear enough to tell precisely what happened.

It’s still possible that McCoy could be disciplined by the NFL. Since the NFL uses a much lower standard than the criminal justice system does, it’s too early to know whether McCoy is in the clear.
Shady dodged a bullet here. Hopefully he learns from this, he never should have allowed himself to be in this position in the first place.

Reggie Nelson signing with Oakland today. Led the NFL in interceptions last season.

I'm not used to this much positivity in Oakland. We'll have one of the best offensive lines in football and our defense is vastly improved now. I think Nav might be pulling some strings up there.

Thank God! Anything to get away from the annual mock drafts!
Every team in the top ten is drafting the same 10-15 guys.

The suspense is agonizing!

Jets left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson is reportedly retiring. There were reports earlier this week that the Jets had approached Ferguson about taking a pay cut, and maybe that led to the retirement decision because there hadn't been any rumors about Ferguson retiring. Over the course of his 10-year career Ferguson only missed one offensive snap, the last play of the 2008 season when the Jets took their offensive line off the field down 7 and ran a lateral play.
