Wow, didn't see this coming:

The Panthers announced they removed the franchise tag from CB Josh Norman. He's now an unrestricted free agent and on the open market.

Norman's only issue is that it's mid-April so he won't be able to get near the contract he could have at the start of free agency, but he should still be able to get a major payday.

As a Panthers fan, it came off as a shock. But looking at it, future/long-term wise it makes sense. Gonna need that money to lock down younger guys like Star and Short in the next season or two. Josh isn't young either at 28. Read he is looking to command $16 million a year in the 4-5 years range. Some team will pay him, but I'd be weary of a long term on a guy about to be 30 playing corner.

He's a good player, but I do think his personality isn't for all teams.

How have they won the trade without even drafting anyone yet?

Sure on the surface they favor both the Browns and Titans, but we won't know until a year, or more, down the road who really won.

Now that I can agree with. I was talking strictly on the surface and the pure value of draft picks.

Browns drafting busts with the picks doesn't mean it was a good trade for the Eagles. Wentz/Goff has to become a legitimate franchise QB in order to really win the trade.

Currently, it's a horrible trade for the Eagles due to their investment to Bradford and Daniel...

Who are you hoping for? Goff or Wentz?

It makes no sense whatsoever to take a 1 or 2 on a guy you're not expecting to start right away.

They both look good, from what I've read. Sure, I could probably make a list of good things and bad, but the proof will be when these guys line up under center.
Just like with Mariota and Winston last year. Both showed flashes, but also some growing pains. I used to think that the pitcher position, in baseball, was the most important position in all sports, but it's now NFL QB. It's just incredible what these guys have to learn, and how fast they have to learn it.

Sure it does. We took McNabb #2 and he didn't start right away. He had a fairly successful career.

Lol. Rickah comparing QBs to how they were developed in 1998 to how they are now. Any real good QB starts his first year. Last time a great QB was drafted and didn't start right away was Rodgers and that was because HOF Favre was keeping a hold on the job.

I know you're still incredibly bitter about the complete choke job the Jets did last season. They sure loaded up for a run...except they tripped coming out of the gate. Did I miss anything?

It might be delayed because of the flooding in Houston, but it should be getting to you soon .

As for us, we are actively searching for a QB like many other franchises. But don't confuse our sensible GM, who is being wise in not handing out ridiculous contracts to bum QBs, with yours, who gets his head slapped for the Rams' sloppy seconds .


Personally I'd be ok going 0-16 if it meant drafting Deshaun the following year.
