The US Appeals Court reinstated Tom Brady's 4-game suspension today. Unless the 2nd Circuit or Supreme Court agrees to hear the case or the NFL and NFLPA agree to a compromise Brady will be the opener at Arizona and home games against the Dolphins, Texans, and Bills.

Really this case had little to do with Brady, he was just caught in a fight between Roger Goodell and the NFLPA over how broad the commissioner's power is. Even though there's almost no proof that the balls were deflated and even less proof that Brady had any knowledge if they were Roger Goodell had to show the NFLPA he can do what he wants and there's nothing they can do about it since they gave him such broad powers in the CBA.

This ruling doesn't surprise me at all.

If you sign up for arbitration and then don't like the answer, rushing to the courts can't be the solution. If it were courts will be inundated with Arbitration cases, when the whole point of Arbitration in the first place is to keep it out of the courts.

If Jimmy Garoppolo can play even decent the Patriots still have a good chance at going 3-1 at worst to start the season. After the opener at Arizona the Patriots have 3 straight home games against the Dolphins, Texans, and Bills. While division opponents are always tough and the Texans were a division champion last season those home games are all winnable.

Id laugh if NE started 4-0 simply because then you get the QB controversy stuff about how Brady is old and no longer needed. Would be even better if the guy put up numbers as good if not better then the cheater.

Well New England sure showed just how well they can hold up that year with Matt Cassell. An 11-5 season. It would be funny if the Pats go 4-0 and the backup has something like 11 TD, 1 Int.

Pats went from pickem to a 4.5 pt underdog in wk1 but still favorites (just not as big) in next 3.

Bradford is apparently pissed that the Eagles traded up and now is demanding a trade.

Good luck with that Mr "I've never done anything noteworthy in the NFL but am due 17.5 million dollars" Bradford. Of course I have no idea how much a team would be on the hook for if they traded for him.

He can also request a hearing with the full court at the one that just denied him, as I understand it.

Personally I think he'll let it go, especially after restructuring his contract so that a 4 game suspension barely costs him anything in Tom Brady $ (235K).

Haynesworth raking a guys face off with his cleat with clear evidence: 5 games.

Brady accused of committing a violation in which even if clear evidence existed by the rulebook is described as a fineable offence in most cases: 4 games.

You don't have to like Brady whatsoever to see that it's ridiculous.

Ahh good point. I forgot about the "en banc" hearing possibility. It was only a 2-1 decision so that's possible I suppose.
