So those that predicted the NY super bowl would start a trend of some outdoor cold weather super bowls - NOT
this makes 7 yrs in a row of non outdoor cold weather games.
Out of curiosity, who were those that predicted cold weather SBs?

A lot of people believed that if the New York Super Bowl went well it could lead to an opportunity for places like Kansas City, Denver, New England, and Washington to host Super Bowls. The New York Super Bowl couldn't have gone much better in terms of weather, but since then no cold weather stadiums have even gotten any consideration for a Super Bowl. My guess is they'll stick with warm weather or indoor stadiums, although maybe if a team like Washington builds a new stadium they'll get an opportunity.

Super Bowl should be played in any and all elements. Fans will still attend. Play that sucker up in Buffalo or Boston and such!

Dont agree at all - super bowl is special:
what if its a blizzard & a boring 6-0 game who wants that
what if the game has to be postponed
what about all the events leading up during the wk
i dont even think buffalo would have enuff accomodations n stuff

Exactly!
It seems like playing in bad weather, especially snow, is practically marketed....but when it comes to the Super Bowl, bad weather is borderline taboo!
Honestly I wish the NFL would do away with the predetermined field and let the best team, of the two remaining, get home field.

Thats even worse - why do you think theyre announcing sites now - cause it takes long to plan & be ready for all the events - 2 wks notice - youre funny.

Other sports can plan their finals, NFL has plenty of resources to do the same.
They wouldn't miss a beat.

They voted in some replay changes but nothing really dramatic.

I'm probably alone here but personally I think the Super Bowl should be hosted by the team with the best record in the Super Bowl, just like any other sport. I hate neutral field games with mostly people in attendance who aren't even fans of either team.

Heh, guess we read each others minds. I've always thought the same thing. I hate neutral field games. It's stupid what we have a game like say, Seattle vs. New England in the south.

I just think that the team that played the best, should get the reward: hosting the championship game.
It's all moot point anyway, by SB 100 global warming will push all the games up north anyway, due to extreme heat.

Looking at the list of locations it seems the NFL badly wants to extend it's streak of never having a team play at home in the Super Bowl. Falcons probably have the best shot out of the bunch.

That's going to be a convenient 3.5 hour road trip for me to see the Titans win it all.

Last time ATL hosted the SB we made it, so there's that.
