But then again, it's just Cam being Cam. All kidding aside, he took some nasty hits and it will be interesting to see what all happens from the aftermath, if anything. Cam was failed on so many levels; the officials for not calling these hits in the first place (which probably allowed certain Broncos players to think, "oh they're not call going to call these? Well cool, then I'll lay one into his head too.") Cam was also failed by the Panthers by allowing him to go back out there after these hits, when he clearly shouldn't have been. It's questionable if the concussion protocol was truly even followed in the first place. They should have trotted Derek Anderson or Joe Webb out there earlier on. Who knows what long-term effects this will have on him.

And I can pretty much guarantee that if these hits to the head were applied to quarterbacks like Peyton Manning (back when he was actively playing), Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady ... the penalties would have been called. Officials either were doing their best Stevie Wonder impersonations out there or simply chose to look the other way. It's a damn shame.
You can't blame the Panthers or Cam for him still being in the game. The response needs to be a proactive approach not reactive. If the officials had started throwing flags earlier then the Broncos wouldn't have continued to do it. The NFL should also institute a rule that if one player gets taken out on hits like these, the offending player is disqualified.

That's the only thing we should be honoring on Sunday. This flag and nation worship stuff is insane. It's literally what caused both World Wars.

Pretty sure I didn't say anything about league rules when it comes to flag burning, even when it's on their own property. An NFL player could be cheating on his wife/girlfriend and it isn't against league rules ... but it doesn't mean it's acceptable behavior.

I dunno, you're talking about it on an online forum also, right?

To quote a friend of mine who joined the Army a few years back "if you want to honor the military tell the government to give us a pay raise. Bumper stickers and anthems don't do us any favors."

When a QB couldn't get the ball across the line of scrimmage cause he was about to get blasted in the head by an illegal hit maybe the penalties should not be offsetting.

I think they could change it to where personal safety penalties take precedence.

You'll have to excuse me for the lack of my politcal correctness. I'm not a pussyboy ready and willing to bend over and let other countries bomb the shit outta my home and let them kill innocent people all over the world for their own bullshit cause.

But I'm done, I've nothing more to say on this subject as this is a NFL thread and we must stop holding up the trash talk. The falcons suck Yeah hows that feel wise guy? They suck real good!

Pretty sure you're a Falcons fan.
I don't think anyone here wants any of those things, including Kaepernick and Rapinoe. But not standing for the anthem doesn't mean you are anti American or want terrible things to happen. If anything, they are arguing that the anthem has and continues to be a symbol of a nation that has done terrible things. They want to draw attention to those things so that we can correct then and grow as a nation.

They're not disrespecting the flag, the military or the country. They are doing the most patriotic move available by taking a silent protest against negative aspects of our country.

If you want to get upset about the NFL disrespecting the military, look at the massive amounts of money they charged to recognize military members at games.

And, yes, my Falcons were the top culprit in that mess.

As a carnival sideshow a-la Michael Jordan. There are so many better things Tebow could be doing with his life. Can't believe he's trying this nonsense.

I hope I don't regret trading Amari Cooper for Gronk in a league.

That timeout was an absolutely atrocious decision by Rivera. There was no reason to call timeout rather than just challenge the play. They still had 2 challenges remaining so even if they had lost the challenge the net result would have been the same, a loss of a timeout. The way the Panthers handled their timeouts in both halves was terrible.

The timeout was actually called by Thomas Davis. Rivera was going to let that terrible spot stand. Had the broncos decided to kick the field goal instead of going for it on 4th down it would've been a great decision by the captain of our D. Rivera completely baffles me at times with some of his decisions. I'm not sure if his head was in the game at all last night.

He frequently looks confused when they show him on the sideline.

Most reliable TE in the league my eye, meanwhile Witten hasn't missed a game in his 13 year career.
