Going to take some amazing capology. While it's great Dak & Zeke are performing at a high level, it's going to be tough to do both their contracts and keep that OL in place. But sometimes those are nice problems to have.
Just can't keep everybody in today's NFL(Not For Long).
Which is why I think Dallas has to win this season. They have the "perfect storm" going right now: jackpot draft picks combined with 4-12 schedule.

They're going to have to change how they build the team and actually start signing free agents and making trades. Building through the draft is a good way to build a team when you are bad (like the current Raiders team was largely constructed) but once you get good and start drafting late in each round you can't rely on the draft anymore. I'm not saying you have to go out and spend $75 million on a player like Josh Norman, but you can't just avoid signing free agents because you don't want to risk losing compensatory picks.

Once they got to the Nic champ game they s/h filled needed spots through FA. Instead they lose guys and replace them with lower round draft picks.

For the most part the Cowboys have their important players already intact for 2017. 2018 is where it's going to get super dicey for them, starting with Zack Martin (Frederick and Smith are both tied up for a long long time).

I still feel like we're supposed to be a year or two out from being true contenders so this still feels fake, but i'm gonna enjoy it anyway. RAIDER FOOTBALL!!!! Should be well over 100,000 people there. What's up with the Texans having an endzone painted for them? This is supposed to be a home game for us.

From what i'm reading the altitude and the smog is going to make the 4th quarter a very tired looking football game. Hope our O-Line holds up and that we build up a lead early. 8-2 would be huge.

Top shelf RB contract is not that much higher than #4 overall pick money. He's already the 9th highest paid RB.

If we can shed Romo's contract somehow we get a small window until Dak signs his first extension. No doubt he's going to get a $20m+ a year the way he's playing.

The current gap is ~$8mil! That's not much?
Even if you cut that in half, that would put Zeke in the $10mil+/yr, which if he continues at this pace will be the bare minimum.
I'm fairly certain Romo will be gone after this season. Jerruh can posture all he wants, but he knows he doesn't have much leverage and freeing up the cap space, even if it's only $5mil, is much better than paying a 37yr old clipboard holder $25mil. If a desperate team wants to dance, hey so much the better...that seems like such a reach.
But that's putting the cart in front of the horse. Now it's all about home field advantage...ie, not playing at Seattle. Right now the final 6 games seem to favor Seattle, but that tie might as well be a loss at this point.
Just like every year it's going to be interesting.

Adrian Peterson got $14m a year, but no RB is going to get that ever again. Zeke could get $10-12m. Even if he gets $14m it's not going to kill us.

We need to win while on Dak's rookie deal.

It is what it is, but don't do this whole Emmit is better than Barry nonsense again.

Oh boy...Dallas better win a championship this season. Anything less and the let down in this thread is going to EPIC!
LMAO!! You think Wentz is a better QB than Dak?? Seriously? You think he has a better skillset? To funny!! Got Em!!

If any RB was going to get AP money it looks like it would be Zeke. Plus he might need it for his legal defense!
Yeah I mentioned that earlier. The luxury of slam dunk draft picks and a 4-12 schedule...now is the time.
No pressure!

Its way too early to tell who is better, that was my point.
Dak is having the better season, mainly, because he has a much better offense around him, because Dallas was built to contend these last few years, and have so far fallen way short.
The Dak situation is a lot like Big Ben being drafted into a perfect situation.
He won, can Dak? Guess we will find out. GOT EM!

He'd be just fine in Denver. They have a solid line and a great defense.

Thats what Im saying. You keep making excuses and not giving Dak credit. You say hes only doin good because we have a great O-Line and team or whatever. But how about when Romo got hurt these last couple of time. We still had a great O-Line, receivers etc....but our backups did horrific. Yes you need good help around you but if you know the game, you can tell when someone is actually good or when someone is just doin good because of talent around them. You can see in Dak's decision making, composure, awareness etc...that he is and will be a great QB. I think dude is a stud and will be for years to come. Wentz should be solid to pretty good but I dont see the X factor in Wentz that I do in Dak. But should be pretty solid. Got Em!!

Curious to see how just how much the altitude plays a factor in tonight's game.

Only thing about Romo to Denver is doesn't he typically play poorly in the cold? Then again maybe players just get used to it. I recall Peyton Manning not playing all that well in cold weather after playing in a Dome in Indy for so long, then he went to Denver and did just fine.
