That too...and will be again next year. Marinate on this for a second...our #1 QB prospect for next year is Geno Smith cuz it's clear that while Petty has a cannon for an arm, he can't read defenses and there's no way they try for Cutler coming off an injury.

They're calling for his head in NY already (go figure), but I dunno...they won last year in spite of themselves given that they inherited issues from the previous Idzik regime, so I'm not sure it's fair to get rid of him just yet. Falcons, by comparison, have played 4 (2-2).

But I think you misunderstand. I'm not saying the Cowboys are bad. But they are not runaway good. Just like nobody in the NFL is. It's the reason there are so many 7 and 6 win teams.

The Jets have no plans to play No. 51 overall pick Christian Hackenberg down the stretch.
The second-rounder will only see playing time if Bryce Petty gets hurt. A team with quarterback problems would normally try to contrive any possible reason to get a second-rounder on the field, but Hackenberg isn't close to ready. It's quite possible he never will be. Hackenberg was a bad player in college, and an immense stretch as a day-two pick.

It was painfully obvious they were redshirting Hack this year...as obvious as it is that the NYJ have never been/will never be competent at developing QBs. I'm too old and I've been a fan for far too long to get upset about it...it is what it is.
