It sounds like the NFL Network is going to change up the guys in it's booth this year, with Mike Mayock replacing Joe Theisman and Matt Millen and possibly Gus Johnson replacing Bob Papa.

Goodell seems hellbent on getting an European Super Bowl. I know he wants to tap into that European population, but I just don't see that many of them becoming big football fans. It's an American sport - not a European one.

Why am I not the least bit surprised? I believe JaMarcus somehow already managed to blow that $30+ mill he stole from the Raiders.

JaMarcus Russell reportedly fired by 'life coach'

JaMarcus Russell, one of the biggest busts in NFL Draft history, doesn't appear to be coping well off the field, either.

Recently, Russell's "life coach," former NBA player John Lucas, suspended working with Russell and asked the former Raiders quarterback to leave Houston, according to Yahoo! Sports. Lucas had been working with Russell since last September in an attempt to get Russell in shape for a possible return to the NFL.

source in the story said that Russell worked hard initially, but that he quickly lost motivation. Lucas eventually grew tired of trying to get Russell to respond to instruction and assistance.

In January, Ravens executive vice president and general manager Ozzie Newsome declined a request to meet with Russell during Senior Bowl week in Mobile, Ala., even though Russell, who grew up in Mobile, was there at the time.

The Raiders took Russell with the first overall pick in the 2007 draft. For most of his three seasons in Oakland, the 6-5, 265-pound Russell was criticized for his work ethic and poor conditioning. He completed 354 of 680 passes (52.1 percent) for 4,083 yards, with 18 touchdowns, 23 interceptions and a 65.2 passer rating. The Raiders won only seven of his 25 starts.

Russell lost his starting job and was released by the Raiders last May. In July he was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance but an Alabama grand jury failed to indict him.

So can we safely say that JaMarcus Russell fails at life?

Sad story. It's one thing to suck at football, but he made so much money and continues to screw up. You wish he could do something good.

We don't even know if he did suck at football or was just so unbelievably lazy that he couldn't succeed. Saddest thing ever because we'll probably see in 2-4 years he's wasted all that money and was busted selling drugs or something like Clarett.

I saw on SportsCenter at lunch that the Jets are going to have TCU QB Andy Dalton come in for a private workout. I don't understand that. There's no way the Jets would ever draft him. He's a borderline first round pick, and the Jets are secure at QB with Mark Sanchez, who has taken the team to the AFC title game in both of his first seasons. Teams are allowed to bring in 30 players for visits and I don't see why they'd waste a visit on someone that they definitely won't pick. I can't imagine this would work as a smokescreen to try and entice teams to trade up to get Dalton because nobody would actually believe the Jets would pick Dalton.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle hears the Redskins are "trying like crazy" to trade up for one of this year's elite quarterbacks.
Unless the Skins offer most, if not all, of their 2012 draft class (picks from which will be severely devalued because no one even knows if there will be a 2012 draft), we have a hard time believing Mike Shanahan can execute a trade up. They don't have a third- or fourth-round pick this year. McClain believes that the Redskins are targeting Missouri's Blaine Gabbert.

No, once a player is drafted they can't be traded. Only picks can be traded.

Tom Pelissero of ESPN 1500 Twin Cities reports the agents for Kevin Kolb have made it known that they will be seeking a lucrative multi-year deal from any team that trades for their client this offseason.
It sounds like Kolb may be overshooting Matt Schaub's six-year, $48M deal, and instead targeting the Matt Cassel/Tony Romo/Aaron Rodgers range of $65-70 million. The asking price is high enough that one NFL decision-maker labeled it "significant enough to make me nervous" with a player of little track record. "There's no way I pay him like a proven guy," said an AFC exec. Kolb's pool of suitors has reportedly been "drastically reduced" by the combination of draft picks and monetary commitment required to pull the trigger.

I would laugh my ass off if Washington trades a ridiculous amount of picks to be able to get an early enough pick to grab Newton. Come on Snyder, give Buffalo a call!

They could easily move up to #4:

skins:
10th pick is 1300 pts
41st pick is 490 pts
conditional 2012 pick

bengals:
4th pick is 1800 pts.

Almost a perfect swap.

We're taking Von Miller, unless you want to give us a few picks.

I absolutely think JaMarcus had the physical gifts to be a very good NFL player. But you could plug JaMarcus's brain in Joe Montana or Jim Brown's body and you'd still just have a lazy bum.
