I guess I am the only one here who thinks that the Dolphins will upset the Jets

I really don't know what to think of the Patriots game yesterday. Sure they got the win and the defense played pretty well but the team didn't look impressive. I don't know what Brady's deal is this year. Last year he never would have made some of the terrible throws he did yesterday. I'm happy with the 5-1 record going into the bye considering how tough their schedule has been but I still don't believe the Patriots can beat the Ravens in the playoffs unless Brady plays absolutely lights out.

I've read a couple rumors about moves the Patriots might make. I've heard they are interested in Brandon Lloyd. Apparently Lloyd would have an easy time learning the Patriots offense because all the terminology and routes are similar to Denver since Josh McDaniels used the same offense. If the Pats brought in Lloyd they'd probably drop Ocho, who has been a non-factor. I've also read a rumor that the Patriots and Vikings have discussed trading Jared Allen for a first round pick. The Pats have 2 first round picks (their own and the Saints) but I would still be surprised if that move happened. Stars in their prime are rarely traded.

Remeber Lloyd with the Redskins

I think its better to have the up and downs like they've been having, they never won a super bowl looking like gods during the regular season. And as someone else said more often then not the best team in the regular season isn't the best team during the year.

I do not see Jared getting traded, he is the heart and soul of the defense and is the only defensive player that is playing great

I don't see Allen getting traded because the fans love him, but that's not a good enough reason. The Vikings need a lot of help before they are competitive again. They need picks and getting a first and maybe a 4th 5th would help them a lot more than the 8-16 sacks a year Allen is getting now when they can't win games.

I’ll take that!! keep the focus on those teams!!!

The Falcons were doing some talking leading up to their game w/the Packers and look what happened.

The Packers just went about their business and showed them who the better team was.

I told my supervisor, if the Packers want any shot @ repeating, they have to go into every game, put the pedal to the metal, and just steam roll whoever they play.

They have to make teams worry about them. Drop 35-40 points on a team a couple times through the year and make other teams

To be fair John Abraham was out. that would be like the Pack playing without Clay Matthews. They're both pretty much needed to sustain pressure. I still think the Pack is the better team, but that's only because ALL their WR's have become good. Even the young ones. Pretty much any WR on GB could start on other teams no problem.

that's the big thing....jones wanted to be paid like a #2 recv'r before this season but he's the most inconsistent when it comes to droped balls.

any recv'r on that team could be a #2 recv'r anywhere else in the league....w/maybe the exception of cobb....but he's a rookie.

too many weapons to cover for most defenses.

if finnely can get his act together and be a little more consistent, thompson s/b willing to throw some descent money @ him.

News out of Raider land

Quote:
The Raiders have reached out to free agent QB David Garrard, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Schefter notes that it doesn't mean the Raiders will sign Garrard, "but it does confirm there is some level of interest." Garrard is 33, has a balky back and has been out of football for six weeks. Still, he's certainly a better option than Trent Edwards and a Carson Palmer trade remains highly unlikely. The Raiders are unlikely to roll with Kyle Boller the rest of the way.
And...

Quote:
Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole reports that the Raiders began "trying hard" as of Sunday night to trade for Carson Palmer.
A source tells Cole that he "highly doubts" owner Mike Brown will budge, but Hue Jackson hasn't given up just yet. Jackson was the Bengals' wide receivers coach from 2004-2006, during some of Palmer's best years. Citing a source familiar with the Raiders' thinking, Cole reports that Oakland "hit the phones quickly" after Sunday's win over the Browns. One major stumbling block is the fact that the Raiders don't have second-, third-, or fourth-round picks in 2012. Cole suggests the Raiders offer a third-rounder in 2013 that could increase to a second- or even first-rounder depending on Palmer's performance.

Default Rant time!!!!!!!

My wonderful Brownies...... sheesh.

Here's the problem(s)

1) Colt McCoy.... are people still convinced this guy is good? Doesn't matter the system, or how great his 'character' is... he's too small, and not very accurate... pretty bad combo!

2) Coaching.... terrible coaching leads to penalties, and we have plenty of those.

3) Hillis is ruined.... we didn't offer him a contract, then made it clear to him that he wasn't wanted when he asked for one.

4) Cribbs.... the guy can't catch, and doesn't know how to run routes, but why should he, HE IS NOT A WR!!!!! But, yet we feel the need to give him a big contract so he's too valuable to return kicks for us on a full-time basis, which is the one thing he is actually good at.

5) We don't have any solid #1 WRs.... we have two 1st round picks next year... our own (which looks like it could end up being a good one!) and the Falcon's, which looks like it could be a great pick too. Despite all of this, Denver is putting up some really talented WRs on the block, and the Browns aren't even in discussions for them.... why not?? I guess they are too good to be on this team

2,4,5 all hurt #1 also poor running game contributes to Colts up and down play.

There's absolutely no way the Bengals would even consider a conditional 2013 third round pick for Palmer. They could get a better pick than that by letting him sit out the season and trading him in the offseason. I can't imagine the Bengals would consider trading Palmer for less than a first round pick, even though he isn't worth that, and Mike Brown may be just spiteful enough that he wouldn't consider any deal even though Palmer clearly doesn't have a future in Cincy.

He didn't retire, he just said he'll never play for the Bengals again, and since they hold his rights for the next 4 seasons he is sitting out until they trade him, which Bengals owner Mike Brown has said he won't do.

Nah

His stats are good considering the bums he's got at WR and his oline is a bit above average and while his sack # isn't higher, just like with rex (who needs like all-pros at every line position to win a game) if you are getting big time pressure you can't do much.

You can do allot worse than an up and coming winner

While I agree with Mike Brown in principle, he needs the picks. All he is doing is hurting his team right now. Trade Palmer to Oakland, or Miami, or whoever would want him for a second rounder or better. It makes no sense to hold him and lose out on value.

What was that you said before about Rex Grossman reviving his career? Dude is a joke and always has been, at least Romo is mediocre.
