I've been told that for addicts to change their ways they have to "bottom out". As Chad mentioned, his parents cutting him off would probably expedite that process. Unfortunately for some, the bottom could be death.
Sure hope that isn't the case here, but I wouldn't be surprised to see his downward spiral continue for quite awhile as long as anyone pays him money.

Being totally cut off is the first step, but here's the thing about bottoming out in his case...I'm certain the dude has a TON of friends (read: rich friends) and among those friends plenty of enablers, so truly bottoming out may take a while if at all.

I agree. Such a sad story, perhaps he should contact this guy!

San Diego can't be too appealing, that franchise is in chaos. He may want the LA job though, would probably have carte blanche to do whatever he wants.

I have full confidence we hired the right guy this time. McDermott is about as different from Rex as you can get, and he has a lot of qualities you look for in a successful head coach.
