It has never bothered me that people hate on the Cowboys as "America's Team".

The Cowboys never were, nor will they ever be "America's Team," to me.

There is no "America's Team" in football for me.

Only my "Home" team, since I began knowing about the Cowboys around 1965.

Giants defense played like a all-universe team for the 2 championship runs. They played very well down the stretch this year to get them into the playoffs. Before this season Eli Manning missed the playoffs a couple years in a row, he's not a guy who can will his team into the playoffs.

Defense does win championships. Doesn't mean you don't need a franchise QB in place.

Peyton was awful last year, but he's one of the few greatest QBs of all time. That makes a huge difference.

Bucs and Ravens are no longer relevant examples because of the way the game has changed.

I definitely disagree that the Browns have serviceable QBs. Maybe if they could all stay healthy. Problem is none of them can.

Unless the game significantly changes, franchise QBs are going to be winning the Super Bowl year in and year out. Doesn't mean that defenses don't win championships, but even if you have the best defense in the league with RG3 as your QB, you have no chance.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the 49ers will offer their head-coaching job to Kyle Shanahan at the conclusion of the Falcons' season.
The sides will reportedly conduct a second interview after the NFC Championship Game. The 49ers can't officially hire Shanahan until the conclusion of the Falcons' playoff run, but it appears there's already a wink/nod agreement. It's why Seahawks executive Trent Kirchner "withdrew" from the general manager search on Tuesday. Kirchner was believed to want to pair up with Seahawks assistant Tom Cable. Successfully coordinating offenses since 2008 in Houston, Shanahan has earned the chance to lead a team.

ESPN Cowboys reporter Todd Archer ultimately expects Dallas to release Tony Romo this offseason.
While trading Romo is the Cowboys' "No. 1 priority," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, it could be difficult for Dallas to find the compensation it desires when teams already know the Cowboys don't want him. Archer expects there to be "too many hoops to jump through" to pull off a trade, and the biggest one in particular will be how to swallow the massive $24.7 million cap hit. By designating Romo as a post-June 1 cut, the Cowboys could spread the cap hit out over the next two years and clear $14 million in 2017, allowing them resources to upgrade the defense.
