MMQB's Albert Breer reports the Texans are promoting LBs coach Mike Vrabel to defensive coordinator.
Current DC Romeo Crennel's contract is expiring, but he's expected to return as the assistant head coach, according to Breer. Houston didn't want to lose either coach, and Vrabel had been linked to the 49ers' defensive-coordinator opening once Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan accepts the head-coaching job. Vrabel's star has been getting brighter the past couple years. He was connected to the Rams' head-coaching job last week but never formally interviewed for it.

Unless something changed from last night, Cimini never said this. It was tweeted out by another outlet that said he originally tweeted it but he never did. Roto might have picked up on the false tweet and ran with it.

Regardless though, I think the move is inevitable...he's been a great Jet, one of my favorites for being here such a short time, but we have no one throwing him the ball next year (as of yet), so why would he sacrifice himself for another season with some bum at QB? Makes no sense. They will cut him, he'll go to NE and win a Super Bowl, watch.

ESPN Jaguars reporter Mike DiRocco expects Jacksonville to release Julius Thomas this offseason.
Signed to a monster five-year, $46 million deal ahead of the 2015 season, Thomas has answered with 46-455-5 and 30-281-4 receiving lines in 2015 and 2016, respectively, while missing 11 games to injuries. He scored 24 touchdowns across his final two seasons in Denver, but the Jaguars failed to use him like the Broncos did as a field-stretcher down the seams. Thomas isn't going to make defenders miss on short passes; he's a run-straight athlete in the mold of Jared Cook who could benefit playing in an offense that better plays to his strengths. Releasing Thomas would save the Jaguars $4.7 million against the cap.

Guys like B-Marsh are smart and have set themselves up well for the future. They don't need the money so price has zero to do with it, he wants a ring.

Of course he wants a ring, all true competitors want a ring, he will definitely be one of the most coveted WRs if he hits the open market this spring.

Not to be such a contrarian so early this morning, but I disagree there too (about him being one of the most coveted WRs on the FA market), The guy is 33 and has been banged up throughout his career. He will go to a team that could use an injection of veteran leadership that is a bit thin at WR, but is close-ish to making a deep playoff/SB run, much like a Steve Smith in BAL or to a lesser extent Boldin in DET.

The late 1st/early 2nd guy I really like is Mahomes. He needs some development, but there are a lot of good qualities there.

While I do think you are right about Flacco, Eli is a future hall of famer more than likely. He's a Manning, that's going to go a long way for him.

I've come to terms with Eli being a Hall-Of-Famer because people are blinded by the "New York, 2 Superbowl rings" thing.

He will also be in the argument for worst/least deserving Hall-of-Famer.

One of the Superbowl highlight plays Sportcasters mention about how great Flacco is, Jones had to come back like 15 full yards because Flacco was off THAT far, and Jones was that wide open.

I honestly think Flacco and Eli would have both washed out of the NFL had they played for like 20 of the NFL teams.
