Yeah, a guy I knew from a nearby high school broke his leg playing football. When the doctors were running tests they discovered he had cancer and were able to treat it because they caught it early but they said if they hadn't discovered it so soon it would have definitely been fatal within a few years.

Tiebreaker order varies depending on if its between teams in the same divison or not.

Players want to win period. Look at this week. While everyone was praising the Bengals the Raiders players were jumping up and down. Players don't care about draft picks and salary cap space. They care about players and winning NOW.

Players have incentives to play well, including bonus money in their contracts. If you play hard and have a good year, you could be in for a new contract and nice payday. If you don't play well, whether it is on purpose or not, you could be cut and be making no money. From a players perspective, throwing games makes no sense. All fans want their team to improve and if your team isn't a contender, I understand wanting them to lose. The best way to improve a team is through the draft and getting a higher pick gives your team a better chance to get good players and improve.

A quick prediction for this weekend. Tebow will play really well, and Denver will win. Tebow mania will explode after this weekend.

Ravens play on MNF this week. Not too excited about that one. I mean, I guess MNF usually has the worst of all the games, mostly having less popular teams playing. Even though I'm a Ravens fan, it's not as interesting as a sunday afternoon or SNF game. I still watch MNF games, and wish that there were games every night of the week, but they don't compare to Sunday games. Does anyone know what I mean?

It seems like the scheduling for MNF this season is rather weak.
Probably the worst I've seen in years.
Although I did enjoy the Jets vs. Fins game, probably cause the rivalry.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Ryan Fitzpatrick is closing in on a long-term contract with the Bills that will be valued among "second-tier" NFL quarterbacks.
The proposed deal would pay Fitzpatrick between $9 million and $12 million annually, and the team wants it finalized "by the time the Bills take the field in Week 8" against the Redskins. It's still a steep price tag for a player with obvious physical limitations and a career completion percentage under 60, but Fitzpatrick has turned the franchise around as a mid-level NFL starter who has mastered coach Chan Gailey's offense.

Generally I agree with you, though I loved the Lions-Bears matchup this year. I'll still watch, but I'm not looking forward to them as much.

The Sunday night games have been pretty much borefests, too. Always seems like it's an NFC East team and, with all due respect to its fans, I find that division boring and overrated.

I think this Sunday night is Packers-Vikings, which in the past was an incredible game. I'll still watch since I'm a Packers fan, and I'm interested in seeing my buddy's client QB the Vikes to a loss.

The packers/vikings is an afternoon game actually.

Yeah, the Sunday night game another stinker in Colts at Saints. Flex scheduling can't come soon enough.

Starting in week 10 NBC can choose a different game to show on Sunday night. CBS and Fox can block certain games but it guarantees the Sunday night matchup should feature decent teams.

A look at the scheduled NBC games and the games they could be flexed out for:
Week 10: New England at New York Jets definitely won't be flexed.

Week 11: Philly at New York Giants: Could be flexed but even if Philly keeps playing like crap could remain the Sunday night game because it's 2 big market teams. The Cowboys-Redskins and Chargers-Bears games are protected so it would likely be replaced by Packers-Bucs or Ravens-Bengals.

Week 12: Pittsburgh-Kansas City seems like a likely candidate to be flexed out but it's Thanksgiving week so there's 3 games on Thursday. Patriots-Eagles and Bears-Raiders are protected so it's possible this could be flexed out for Bills-Jets or Bucs-Titans, but it's not out of the question this game could remain because Pittsburgh gets good ratings.

Week 13: Indy-New England is likely to be flexed. The Jets-Redskins and Packers-Giants are protected so the most likely replacement is Lions-Saints.

Week 14: Giants-Dallas is unlikely to be flexed even if one of the teams is out of playoff contention. Dallas always draws well regardless of their record. Patriots-Redskins is the only protected game and the only game I could really see being flexed is Raiders-Packers.

Week 15: Baltimore-San Diego is likely to remain as long as both teams remain good. There is no great replacement as Jets-Eagles and Redskins-Giants are protected. The only matchup that looks like it could be good is Lions-Raiders.

Week 16 is Christmas day and the NFL said before the season that Bears-Packers won't be flexed, not that NBC would want to replace it.

Week 17 is chosen by the NFL and if possible will feature a game in which both teams need a win to make the playoffs or keep/improve their seeding. No games are protected.

Veteran C Olin Kreutz is walking away from the Saints because "he no longer feels passion and doesn't want to just collect paycheck," according to his agent.
It's just as well for the Saints. The 34-year-old appears to be 275 pounds soaking wet this season, and he's been pushed around in the running game. Coach Sean Payton has shown little confidence in the interior O-line in key situations, and Kreutz has been a primary culprit. Turning to Brian De La Puenta should help the ground attack going forward. A six-time Pro Bowler, Kreutz's 14-year NFL career is likely over.

I predict that Denver will win, Tebow will have mediocre numbers, but it'll be viewed as a "great game" because of the win. And we'll spend the entire rest of the year listening to how numbers don't matter for Tebow because he's a "winner". Even though Denver will go like 2-8 under him.

The Raiders are reportedly considering shutting down K Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring) for a few weeks.
The team will host the traveling circuit of free agent kickers on Friday, as it looks like Sea Bass is almost certain to miss Sunday's game against the Chiefs. We would never advise carrying two kickers for multiple weeks, so it's time to consider dropping Janikowski in fantasy leagues.
