Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff announced the Falcons would make sure to sign Desmond Trufant and Matt Ryan to extensions this spring, as well as talking with Devonta Freeman, who he said they've already had some productive discussions with.

It's been bad for every team that lead warriors, Indians and Falcons. Falcons had a 99.5% chance to win at one point. Every game is new in baseball and basketball.

Well, I guess we will find out if Jason Peters is serious about wanting to do whatever it takes to help the team. Which basically means a pay cut.
I love the guy, but unfortunately nearly $12mil is just way too much for a 35yr old LT with an extensive injury history.
Hope both sides can come to a mutually beneficial agreement!

Depends he's only missed 2 games in 4 years and is coming off a pro bowl year. Plus everyone is looking for o line.

Pats got a lot of people to resign.

Massive change in Atlanta wow.

Falcons fired defensive coordinator Richard Smith and defensive line coach Bryan Cox.

Seems harsh wasn't all on them but Atlanta cleaning house.

You guys are assuming so much that they would make that field goal so easy. It is not a guarantee specially how things were turning. What if they missed it or the kick got blocked ? Then you guys would be here saying ah should have runned or passed for 1st down. Please.

When you have a meltdown like they suffered in the Super Bowl, heads are going to roll. Whether fair or not, certain individuals will be held accountable.

But your team is right there and instead of improving the team it feels like they are tearing it down and rebuilding. Seems like an overreaction but this was an unprecedented lose so maybe its needed.

Exactly! Sure, the odds are better, but far from guaranteed.
It's the classic "hero/zero" play: you're a hero if you make it, or a zero if you don't.
Happens all the time.

Apparently Dan Quinn pretty much took over the defensive coordinator duties during the season because he wasn't happy with the job the assistants were doing and the firings were going to happen regardless of what happened in the Super Bowl.

The Patriots have a lot of cap space but they have a ton of free agents on defense plus Martellus Bennett and Blount (although Blount's not likely to get a ton of money anywhere). Right now the Patriots have about $65 million in cap space, and they can gain $2.25 million more if they release Sebastian Vollmer. Danny Amendola also is due $6.5 million this year and there's no way the Patriots are paying him close to that much, so he'll either have to take a huge cut, which he did last year, or get released. Even if Amendola is willing to take a pay cut the Patriots could choose to move on and add some youth to their receiver squad.

Once the McCown release becomes official the Browns will have over $100 million in cap space. The problem with that is it's a pretty weak free agent class so there aren't a lot of players worth spending that money on, and free agents aren't going to want to come to Cleveland so the Browns will have to overpay.
