2025-2026 NFL Season Thread

After 3 attempts of watching the 30 for 30 Special on XFL, I have finally completed it.

It was pretty good. I remember it some but I don't think I ever caught any of their games. I could see Vince doing something again although different. I don't know. Something needs to challenge NFL though.

Musashi, you should know your pats history, being from CT. and just enjoy the ride instead of being conceited about it. You know the pats were about a handshake away from moving from Boston because they were so bad that the taxpayers didn't want to fund a stadium? It took taxpayers from the entire region of, you guessed it, New England to get it done, and thats why the name was changed. It's a big circle. The pats will suck again. Try to be a good fan. New England doesn't have many.

Gimme your Steelers 2x every year, you guys will become the new Buffalo Bills, we will BEAT you 8 out of 10 hahaha

and I'm sorry you feel that way but the Patriots don't make the schedule and it is not our problem that most of the league today SUCK.

The NFL is never going to be challenged by a rival football league again. The sheer financial power the league has today makes a parallel league impossible. Heck, just look at how McMahon lost (reportedly around $200 million) just trying to create a semi-pro league. I've always liked Arena League football but even that's struggled financially and collapsed a few times.

Closest thing to a challenge the NFL ever had to real competition was the USFL. For a good look on why that league folded (cough... the current U.S. President), check out the 30 for 30 film "Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL?."

No idea on what we'd get. Just speculation because he'd be a 14 million hit and Tyrod would be 13. Not sure he wants to go to Brady's division though.

Who is speculating though? I haven't heard anything at all yet on where he might go.

Where are you getting this from? Unless the situation has changed, I think it's unlikely he ends up with us. From what I've read, we have a lot of respect for his game, but have doubts about his ability to stay healthy over a 16+ game season.

God I hope so. Dude is made of glass, and getting out of his contract is reward enough. Anything we receive in return is just icing on the cake!

Unless, Jeffrey wants to make about half of what he is worth.
Also with Lane Johnson just serving a 10 game suspension, and possibly costing a playoff berth, no way they invest in someone who is another bad test away from a 10 game ban.

I actually used to watch the USFL and was a fan of the New Jersey Generals and Philadelphia Stars. Fun to look back on those days and see how many NFL superstars came from the USFL.

Yeah, that's nice and all. I'm talking about the 1960's. And saying that you got into football in the 2000's is all I need to know. No firsthand pain of them sucking year after year. No firsthand frustration of their crappy draft picks. No firsthand information of them playing for almost 20 YEARS before their first playoff game. If you had come on board in 1960, you would have chosen another team a long time ago. I was lucky to have family in the PA. area, and still suffered some real crap seasons when I became a Steelers fan. It's all been gravy for you. We'll see what you think after they've been out of contention for 8-10 years.

It would be really fun for the NFL to have a "D-League" like the NBA does. 8 or 12 teams filled out with people that didn't get picked on draft day, or walk-ons that have the talent. I know teams have practice squads, but I bet a few really talented no names have been overlooked over the years that never got a chance.
