NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Browns will release Robert Griffin III.
The Browns traded for Brock Osweiler on Thursday, but they aren't expected to keep him. Regardless, Cleveland is heading in a new direction at quarterback and it doesn't look like Griffin III is part of the plan. The Browns could broker a deal with New England for Jimmy Garoppolo or wait until the draft to address their need at quarterback. RG3 struggled through another injury-plagued year in 2016, throwing for just 886 yards and two touchdowns over five appearances. When RG3 resurfaces, it will be as a backup.

Blame Brandon Carr, he got a similar deal from the Cowboys, granted they were paying him to be a #1, which is not in his wheelhouse.

Pretty much. That's where the market is at. Look at Bouye getting $13.5mil a year for one year of production.

I know he's not a #1, but if you've seen our secondary in action you'll realize why $10mil a year for Ryan is not a concern.

$10 is a lot still I thought 7-8 million for him. And he's only 26 he can still cash in again nice moves Ryan. That's why the man has 2 rings.

I expected exactly $10mil a year for him with the way the market has blown up in recent years.

JMac sucks. Y'all can have him. Honestly the only way I want him on this roster is if he takes a pay cut.

Ryan is surely better.

Ryan is better but mac will only be 3 million. I'll take that. Plus 7 million ain't bad for a starter number 2 guys making 10 million!

Sal Capaccio of WGR 550 reports the Bills are "making progress" with free agent Lorenzo Alexander.
Capaccio said "there's still work to be done," but acknowledged the two sides are hoping to have an agreement in place by Friday. Alexander is coming off his best season but it remains to be seen how he fits in Sean McDermott's new 4-3 scheme. The two-time Pro Bowler turns 34 in May.

I had heard rumors that Oakland wasn't going to spend big and so far that's been true. Have to plan for the Carr, Mack, and Cooper extensions i guess LOL

I wouldnt mind getting Martellus Bennett tho. Carr has never had a TE to throw to
