It's not a sure thing that Aaron Hernandez's conviction will be voided now that he's dead. Many outlets reported yesterday it would be voided because Massachusetts law voids a conviction if the party dies while they're appealing the verdict, but there's been numerous cases where the court ruled that since the party committed suicide it automatically ended any appeals and the verdict stands. This will be a huge factor in any civil cases against Hernandez since a guilty civil verdict will be much more difficult to achieve if they can't bring up the guilty criminal verdict and obviously can't force Hernandez to testify.

So assuming Philly won't be playing on Thanksgiving, that 3/4 of the NFC East playing and at least 4/6 teams will be NFC.

Supposedly Mike Francesa got some of the Giants schedule and said they'll open on Sunday Night Football at Dallas and host the Lions in week 2 on Monday night. If accurate this will be the second year in a row where the Giants open the season at Dallas on SNF.

Yeah, the Boston Globe reported over the weekend that would be the opener. There really weren't many good options. They usually don't have division games for the opener and it was unlikely to feature a team that missed the playoffs so that just left the Falcons, Texans, and Chiefs. The Falcons reportedly lobbied to not be in the opener and the Texans aren't a very attractive option with their questions at QB so that left the Chiefs as the best option.

Odd story involving Bills tackle Cyrus Kouandjio:
