My point is that this is reverse... suppose to be the gm's team, not the coach's.

Some coaches know how to build a team better than the GM though so we will see if McDermott is one of those guys.

Whaley has had plenty of time to get his team into the playoffs. They also fired their scouting team.

McDermott is going to be the face and voice for our team. You won't be seeing our GM much. He comes from the Reid and Rivera coaching tree's and learned a lot from them.

Andy Reid is one of the best coaches in the NFL, he never learned to get a franchise QB though so we'll see if McDermott learned from that mistake.

We have to find our QB. Hopefully he is on the roster, but if not we have the draft capital to make a move next year.

Honestly it should be both. GM has to get players to fit the coaches scheme. That was the issue under Mike Smith. Demitroff would get the players he thought projected the best at the positions of need, and Smith wouldn't use them.

Now Quinn works with the lead scouts and TD to come up with a plan and a type of player they are looking for.

I think thats true but i dont know what that makes him. His clock management/ game management over the years is infamous.

And McNabb was a franchise QB IMO for at least half a decade. If you're a legit pro-bowler year in and year out you're a franchise guy. So Reid has had one before

No, this is the part where fans of a university an undrafted player came from go off about how all 32 teams made a huge mistake and that he will use this as motivation to become one of the biggest stars in the NFL. Then after three different teams cut him in his first year, they'll never mention his name again.

Tony Romo's are about 1 in a million so I wouldn't hold my breath. Ron Leary is probably another make good example but there's not many.

Correct on the first point....but if McNabb wasn't a franchise QB, Romo was even less!
