With Vince Wilfork retiring the last player from the legendary 2001 Miami Hurricanes football team still active is Frank Gore. Kind of amazing how durable that guy has been. Feels like the end of an era with the last of those guys retiring.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_M..._football_team

That 2001 Canes team had a backfield of Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, Najeh Davenport, and Frank Gore. They also had Ed Reed, Andre Johnson, Vince Wilfork, Jeremy Shockey, Jonathan Vilma, Chris Myers, Clinton Portis, Antrel Rolle, Sean Taylor, Bryant McKinnie, and Kellen Winslow II.

Ed Reed and Andre Johnson are future HOF locks. Sean Taylor would have been if he wasn't murdered at 24. Not really sure on Vince Wilfork and Frank Gore but I think they should make it. Statistically they are probably borderline. Both are 5x Pro Bowlers. Wilfork is a 4x All Pro. Gore never had a jaw dropping season but he's past the 13,000 yard marker with nine 1,000 yard seasons.

Of all the teams I've seen in 25 years or so years of watching college football only the 1995 Nebraska team is up there with that Canes team and they produced far less NFL talent.

I was going to say Tony Eason. I had completely forgotten about Bledsoe.

And you really want to tout his Super Bowl ring? Does that mean Trent Green is better than Dan Marino?

Yeah it was in those years before 2000 when supposedly the patriots were garbage. Like 96-99 when they went to the super bowl, the playoffs 3 times and didn't have a losing season.

Bledsoe went to two and won one. I'd say he has a better chance to go to the hall than romo.

I don't think Bledsoe's going to get much credit from voters for the Super Bowl win since he didn't play in the game (although he was key in the AFC title game after Brady got hurt). He had a good career and is in the top 20 for passing yards, completions, and touchdowns, but he never made an All-Pro team and his record was barely over .500 as a starter so he'll have to settle for a spot in the Patriots Hall of Fame.

I'm not a U fan, but that's damn impressive.

Yes, they had a couple of good years mixed in there, but in the years prior to that they were pure garbage, the perennial door mat of the AFCE back when the the Colts were in the division.

I agree totally, I don't think he will make the hall I was saying he has a better chance than romo.

You can get a week free of NFL Game Pass. Just remember to cancel in time. I do that every year.

I expected Glennon to look like this, but I didn't expect Trubisky to look like this.
