I think we have the NFC West next year. Hope the Rams game is in LA.

Raiders will get the NFC West next year but Rams/Raiders will likely be in Oakland, considering they played in St Louis in 2014 (a 52-0 Raiders loss [emoji23])

The thing is this poor attendance doesn't even matter. The only reason there are two teams in LA now is because of how much that increases the value of the team, especially after the new stadium opens. Ticket sales are such a small part of the pie now.

The stadium in Mexico City that was to host the Pats/Raiders game was severely damaged today. This game might be moving to Oakland as a regular home game (hopefully with all profits going to Mexico City relief)

The early reports of major damage to the stadium turned out to be untrue and the damage to the stadium was minor. There's an expansion joint that people thought was a giant crack but it's always been there and it's purpose is to expand and give the stadium more flexibility in the event of an earthquake.

FS1 radio was talking about the lack of excitement for the Chargers on the radio this morning, and a caller brought up a good point about how people in LA usually come from other parts of the country and therefore bring their fandom for other teams with them, so it's gonna be almost impossible for the Chargers (or any LA team) to really have a passionate home-grown fanbase. The only way to rectify that is to start winning. A lot. Aaaaand that's not gonna happen anytime soon, for either LA team.

I'm not sure I buy that excuse. The Lakers, LA Kings, Galaxy, Dodgers and even the Clippers have very good fan bases even in down times. Unless somehow sucky fan bases only applies to LA NFL teams.

The point was that bringing a team to LA nowadays doesn't make much sense. You're not kidding about the Lakers and Dodgers lol, the Lakers STILL get talked about on the radio more than either of the NFL teams (or at least it seems that way to me). If the Rams had been here all along and never left for 20 years, there'd probably be a very passionate fanbase right now. But to have them leave and now come back expecting the love to still be there was... short-sighted. And obviously when it comes to the Chargers, that problem is compounded.

It’s because San Diego wouldn’t build them a new stadium. People don’t wanna use their tax money to pay for billionaires to get a new stadium. Pay for your own sh!t
