Last year he threw for 2,241, 16TDs against only 4ints with a 90.7 QB rating not to mention another almost 500 yards rushing in just 12 games. And all that was after coming off a surgery with no training camp. Mariotas best year was 26 tds and 9 ints with 3,400 yards passing with another 350 rushing.

You are probably the only one in America (besides Kaepernicks relatives) who think he is better than Mariota. The realy important number in Kaep's stats was 2. That was how many games he won. He put up mediocre stats in mostly garbage time game losses. If he was really good he would be on a team. Teams have signed plenty of bad people to teams if they thought they would help them win.

And yet a few owners and teams have already said they wouldn't sign him and it's not talent based. Marcus mariota hasn't shown me that much to be like holy crap that's the guy! And I know teams will look past stuff if a player can play but we all know this situation is completely different he is the poster child for an event that white America hates. The decision not to sign him is directly related to the the fact the league is losing money now thanks to what he started. Is he better then some of the other backups yeah most definitely. Is he worth the headache hell no.

It would be the same if you cost the company you work for 25% of the fiscal revenue of the previous year. Guess what if you screwed up that bad they would fire your ass in a heartbeat.

Fortunately for them they get to face us this weekend... With no Mariota, we'll lose 27-6. At best.

All you have to do to beat us is literally pass every single play. Once you establish the passing game, start running, and then mix in some PA. 30+ points with ease.

Yeah it's been a fun season so far. I like how unpredictable things have been, and that no one team seems to be running away with the league this year (KC looks very good but I still can't count on an Andy Reid team in the postseason).

As a Niner fan who watched Kaep closely, he only really flourished under Harbaugh. Back then the defense was good enough to keep games close, the o line was dependable and there was a strong rushing game. Once Harbaugh was fired the spirit of the team left, core vets left and the new coaching staffs didn't tailor the offense around Kaep's strengths. He couldn't catch teams by surprise anymore and he isn't really accurate and never developed a touch pass. His passes are all fastballs essentially.
While he is better than a lot of QB's who are on teams now, he is, at best, mediocre in the grand scheme of things. If he was elite like Brady or Rodgers he would be signed and owners and fans would tolerate his protest because winning trumps distractions.
I do think his heart is in the right place in regards to his protest but he has made a lot of real immature missteps along the way - the cop/pig socks, the Castro comments, his gf's twitter postings, etc.
What is so telling of the league in general in all this is how hypocritical and vain they are in their "supportive" kneeling, arms locked, etc. demonstrations the past couple weeks. If the owners were principled someone would sign him. If the players meant it they would hold some kind of strike or demonstration until he was signed but none of them want to go the extra mile and rock the boat and upset fans or advertisers too much. Our society as a whole has a very short attention span and has pretty much moved on from the whole story in the last few weeks. The only reason it came back up is because someone brought it up out of the blue seemingly and the only reason the league started their demonstrations was in defiance to that person.
Personally I don't care whether someone kneels, stands, sits, etc. I am just so tired of the wall to wall coverage on it. Thankfully it seems to be dying down but unfortunately its because something much more serious and tragic is the new story du jour.
