If that is a fact then why do most people find it offensive? Why do they ask you to rise, stand, and remove your hats before they sing it? The facts are they don't ask you to kneel because most people find it offensive.

Because it's an opportunity for a military salute gesture to the flag, wherein civilians also participate by placing their hands over their heart. As of 10/31/08, veterans and servicemembers not in uniform can now render the military-style hand salute during the playing of the national anthem. The National Anthem is pretty much a battle song & the inspiration for it was a lone flag flying over Fort McHenry. Imo, a big part of why "the majority" now find kneeling offensive, is because Colin told everyone why he was doing it. As a hypothetical, before all of this Kaepernick stuff, let's just say that a player knelt during the anthem & was asked after the game why he did it & he said, "because it's a sign of respect & I love my country." Do you think "the majority" would've said in response, "Oh no it's not, it's a sign of disrespect, stand up." I highly, highly doubt it. "The majority" would've accepted his explanation, been cool with it & moved on, no big stink up. The only reason "the majority" are all bent out of shape is because of CK's reasons for kneeling.

I realize that "the minority" on this issue such as myself, are not looked upon too kindly by "the majority." That's alright, no hard feelings from me.

They find it offensive because it is a sign of disrespect to kneel when they ask you to stand and show respect. If you want to make a bigger issues out of you can choose to do that. I don't need to wikipedia an explanation to fit my point. Since kneeling is not helping the cause of and issue that can't truly be fixed and is only offending people it would make sense to move on to something else.

Just so we can also keep this thread football related I was really hoping when i saw the schedule that the Dolphins would be 3 and 2 or 4 and 1 at this point but at a really uninspiring 2 and 2 (that should have been 0 and 4) I think playoff chances are slim to none at this point.

Still early enough in the season for Miami to make a push for post season though.

If I was anywhere near that guy, I woulda popped him when he was wide open right after he threw that punch.

EDIT: Haha, Twitter found him and his address. He already shut down his Instagram account and has a history of assault. Enjoy jail, tough guy!

Don't mean to get dramatic, but watching that video made my blood boil when I saw the look on the older dude's face after he was assaulted.

God damn you Goodell for taking my Zeke away!

This now with me having to include the entire backfield of Dallas onto my team brings my total cowboy player count to 5 Dez, Dak, Zeke, Morris and last but not least Mcfaddan!
