Cowboys by 17...at least.
WHAT!?! That was not a very intelligent comment.

Then again what can you expect from someone who is willing to bet on the cowgirls by 17?

I don't think so, Tony...at least not yet. I think the Lions are that team right now. Sitting at 6-2 and a Wild Card if the playoffs started today.

Uhm...Yes it is. I'm a Browns fan for starters, and was simply commenting on D-A's prediction of this week's Seahawks/Cowboys game. I don't give a rat's ass how either team does but I do know this...Dallas will PASTE Seattle this weekend by AT LEAST 17.

Cam Newton averaging 299 passing yards per game
at the rate he's going he'll beat Peyton Manning's rookie record by 1000 yards

If you told me the Cowboys over/under for beating Seattle was 17, I'd take the OVER!

He's AWESOME. Have tix to see Carolina in Detroit in a couple of weeks, but as of right now I'm working that weekend (at least my buddies will see him). He will be a premiere player in this league one day, barring injury.

The San Francisco Chronicle's Vittorio Tafur expects T.J. Houshmandzadeh to be active for Week 9.
Tafur believes Houshmandzadeh will play "at least on third downs in the slot." Oakland appears to be mostly interested in Houshmandzadeh as a safety blanket for Carson Palmer and mentor for its younger receivers. That, coupled with physical skills that seemed to all but vanish in Baltimore makes Houshmandzadeh a poor flier even in deeper leagues.

Yeah that was last year. The Replay showed he didn't even get the ball and refs still said TD and the Fins coach was out of challenges. I think it's safe to say the refs love Steelers. Every year there is at least 1 game that is just handed to them.

That's not what happened. They went to replay and saw a clear fumble but there was no evidence a Dolphin recovered the ball. By rule, replay had to show a fumble and recovery to award posession. Even if the refs sorted the pile to see who had the ball, it wouldn't have mattered by rule since a touchdown was called killing the play right then and there. The end result was that they did the best they could do which was give the Steelers another shot from the one.

It was a blown call in realtime, not by lack of replay ability or making the wrong call after replay.

More bad publicity for Peyton Hillis, as he allegedly didn't show up at a charity Halloween party. From the link:

Quote:
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Hillis' brother and agent confirmed that the running back would attend the event hosted by the Cleveland Boys and Girls Club. His presence was promoted and 50 children attended, some of whom were bussed from other locations to meet Hillis. Then the Browns star never showed.

LeCharles Bentley(notes), a former NFL Pro Bowler, is on the board of the Boys and Girls Club and tweeted his frustration at the no-show on Tuesday:

Peyton Hillis looking for 10mil guaranteed from Browns and can't show up to kids charity event? #ManPlease.

Reminds me of Big Ben's 4th and goal plunge against Seattle in that Super Bowl where he was clearly down and then stuck the ball across and the official threw his arms up.

According to Steve Corkran of the Oakland Tribune, it's "looking more and more like" Darren McFadden (foot) will be held out of the Raiders' Week 9 game against the Broncos.
Michael Bush is poised for his first start of the season. Rookie Taiwan Jones would be Oakland's change-of-pace back in that scenario. Mid-foot sprains are often multi-week injuries, so we really shouldn't be surprised that DMC would have to miss one game. Fantasy owners need to sit tight and hope McFadden heals by Week 10 or 11. Bush will be a top-15 running back play this week.
