I think Smith is an excellent QB that never truly got to play to his level and/or potential. The start of his career was San Francisco (he had how many coaches and OC's?). Kansas City is better but playing For Reid isn't exactly the greatest thing ever either for a QB (besides McNabb).

The whole "franchise" QB repeated statement needs to be thrown out. Not every QB needs to be a "franchise" QB - just get the job done and win some games.

QBs pretty much fall into one of three categories (starters)
Franchise QBs, "bus driver" QBs and mediocre or worse

Alex Smith is a noodle-armed bus driver whose athleticism is starting to go

Reid is actually known for his offenses so it's kinda another red flag on Smith that Reid couldn't make it work.

Ha ha, they know nobody outside of Texas and New York cares about that game so they took it out of the prime time slot. Normally it would mean I have to adjust my running schedule but only running 4 miles that day so it won't matter.

End of an era for the Giants as Eli has been benched:

Coach Ben McAdoo announced today that Geno Smith will start in place of Eli Manning when the Giants face the Raiders in Oakland on Sunday. Rookie Davis Webb will also play, if not this week, then sometime before the end of the season.

“Geno will start this week,” McAdoo said. “Over the last five games, we will take a look at Geno, and we will also give Davis an opportunity.”

Manning has started 210 consecutive regular-season games, the second-longest streak by a quarterback in NFL history, behind Brett Favre’s 297
